I was fine with Aloy and Jesse Faden (CONTROL) the way they look. But Lara Croft is known to have above average looks and attraction. That's her persona.

This is 100% correct. At first when I watched I was confused thinking I was seeing one good model in the CGI and another for in game but I was actually seeing two different games.
In the one game they nailed it and the other looked terrible.

The kicker is they even changed the character model between the base Tomb Raider 2013 game and Tomb Raider Definitive Edition. Same game, difference is the latter is the remaster.
