Chris Dring: Sales of Xbox consoles were down 39% in the UK during 2025, making it comfortably the worst year on record for Xbox consoles.

I honestly thought with the 360 and the AMURICA fanbase that Nintendo/Sony would be in trouble in the US, but somehow MS managed to fuck it up. They even bought activision for 70b+ that literally only relies on 1 franchise that's been on a decline, some fucking geniuses working in MS gaming division.

I love AI and use it a lot and I have tried copilot.

If you think Microsoft is losing in the console war you should try other AI vs copilot. Like try chatgpt or gemini vs copilot and you will understand why Microsoft is starting to get desperate.

Don't even need to do that. There has been plenty of articles written about it now. I think all last week or the week before they started dropping. MS is once again behind when they much like google have a massive advantage with windows. Google used it's advantage to actually make massive progress and MS fumbled the bag. I guarantee Nadella is kicking himself for spending so much on gaming right before AI started taking off.

Dude quotes me twice for some BS. I am explaining why it is still selling, I don't disagree that exclusives matter, but they seem to matter less and less to Sony. My Pro collects dust while I play Sony games on PC with mods which makes them way better. You can use Game Pass on PC too so that also hurts the Xbox console sales.

It doesn't matter that "some" people are willing to buy the console, if third parties run away. Once the ecosystem shrinks to the point that it can't support game sales, new games will just stop being ported. Microsoft is aware this is coming and decided to just make a PC hybrid, because that way there will be no need to port to Xbox at all. But the price they pay is that the performance is going to suffer because there isn't going to be dedicated versions of games that run on the console anymore. And that means the PlayStation version will run better by default.

I'm no dev but that seems to be a thing of the past. Consoles are essentially PCs today. The days of the "emotion engine" are over. Even if there was a slight edge to having one spec to dev for, PCs have the flexibility of more graphical tweaks to get a consistent 60 fps. Besides, if rumors are true, it will be pretty powerful and pretty expensive lol

Consoles like PS5 and Switch 2 offer developers a single spec to focus game design and performance around.

PC doesn't have this, you have to brute force to get around this which is always expensive.
 
If MS keep bumping the price up for GP and the their Xbox's and continue to put mid level games on that won't sell on their own then it's not surprising that Xbox's are going to sell less and prices here in England are too high for most things anyway at present.
 
As long as PC gamers keeps looking down on Xbox, the Xbox brand will stay relevant, you're not the same as who doesn't support Microsoft a %100.

Accurate. Xbox always did well in Mexico until this gen. It now appears that PS has taken leadership in NA, SA, EU, JP, AU, Zimbabwe and Kenya and all surrounding territories, etc.
