Marathon Server Slam CCU Watch

Didn't sony like publically admit destiny was a massive disappoitnment? I don't think its the money maker you think it is.
If a game after 7 years is still one of your biggest money makers, makes more money than most your new released games and they are dissapointed?
Then maybe Sony have Square level expectation problems…

And I dont remember them saying its a massive disappointment. They cut alot of staff to bring costs down, and they want control over Bungie, so who knows what their game is

Played for a few more hours. Game is too niche.

If they want sustained success (at the levels Bungie is typically associated with) the will need to rollout a fleshed out pve version of the game.

But its an absolute shit game and folks on pc like these shitass survival games.

Its certainly no indication of quality.

I say this as a primary pc gamer who has zero interest in these dumb basebuilding games

Or walking around a giant empty map killing zombies.

WTF man. Seems you know nothing about the game. There is a reason it is so popular after all these years. Runs on a new engine and really is not comparable to the 2013 early access days. The moment to moment thrill is second to none. Granted, you will need about 50-100 hours to become somewhat proficient. It is not a basebuilding game, unless you want to do that. Game is all about the PvP but the zombies are needed for balancing purposes.

Wow. Graphically really impressive - from what I've played up to the exfiltration point - controls feel really good and satisfying. Shame it isn't a SP KZ level of game or an actual F2P GaaS where I would dip in once in a while for an hour or two to make up numbers and get that buzz from some shooting.

Hope the game does well for those that have the lifestyle game 90% in online multiplayer, but paying out £100 between sub and game is a million miles away from the value I expect from a GaaS. +500hrs per year of eFootball offline matches - now I can't buy PES - and I still haven't bought any in game currency with real money.

I dunno man, rust, dayz, that dumb dino game Aro are all the same to me

What else is there to do in an gaming enthusiast forum. I am personally bit shocked as stated before on this low CCU.

I expected atleast curious Arc fans to take a leave and try this FREE weekend of a new shiny AAA game in the same genre. But first semi-launch day couldn't even pry people from their other 5 months old extraction shooter. Weekday or weekend, it having low CCU than ARCs at a free weekend is shocking to me. This is coming from a Bungie supporter.

Predicted actual PAID launch day will see +200K CCU but now I am not so sure.
I'm very offended and your bosom should be too

If these are the free numbers, I wonder what the paid numbers will be.
USD$40 multiplayer only extraction shooter with limited content launching with mixed to negative word of mouth from a developer famous for fleecing their GAAS customers? Can't imagine it'll be pretty.

Is this normal?

Yes. Arc Raiders dropped from 250k to 95k over the first night (game also launched on Thursday). Tonight is gonna be more important, as it shows who's coming back and if there's new people joining in as it's the weekend.

There is very mixed word of mouth going around, so I don't see it peaking higher than 200k, heck it would surprise me if it hits 150k again.

I'm curious if they delay this game or just close down bungie after it concords. I'd prefer if they kept bungie open and added some PVE to this.

I'm not getting how Marathon needs to wait for the weekend while RE Requiem is currently at 300k, is weekend already for Resident Evil players?
I mean, they're wildly different games, lol. I don't think there is a wild debate regarding the amount of Resident Evil and Marathon fans. I'm sure a ton of people took the day off for Requiem, lol. I'd be more curious about the numbers for Marathon on launch, personally.

I just don't understand what happened to the Bungie art team, imagine this looking like Halo or Destiny it would have a good chance but it looks hideous.

I think it would have a better chance but my take is that this is chasing a hardcore niche audience that doesn't really exist in the numbers that Bungie needs.

Completely disagree, this looks like a updated KZ3 visualization and looks good because of that IMO.

I've had a few games(Runs at beginner level), and enjoyed them without understanding half of the stuff and really wanted a "restart tutorial" option or a lovely pdf to download like a glossy edge magazine explaining all the stuff to read with a cup of tea.

The panic of getting shot while buried in a NMS looking menu is the biggest emotional game experience so far IMO, along with trying to achieve your objective and getting lost like a rat in a maze.

Thats the thing most people are mixing.
Numbers like that are supposed to be a good indicator for free to play games.
When people discover they have to pay a good money to play this, that lies the challenge.

Don't find this game interesting in the least. I honestly don't wish Bungie to go under but I can't help following the news about this game with morbid curiosity.

Take a guess at peak Arc Raiders server slam CCU

He was quite positive that Marathon will do well days ago.

When the game was first shoed off, last year, I was certain it was going to flop.
But then Bungie started to listen to the players and change several things, so I started to think it might be a moderate success.
Now I'm starting to doubt it...

Is the "wait for the weekend" thing ever not a cope btw? Resident Evil was pulling over 300K in the dead of night here in the states and during the work day in Asia and Europe.

Resident Evil =/= Marathon, lmao. I'm not sure why people are bringing this up, it's Resident Evil, of course it's going to have more players. People took time off for the game. This shouldn't surprise anyone, lol. Extraction shooters in general are pretty damn niche, especially compared to anything Resident Evil touches.

oof, not a ton of wiggle room. I don't think it will be totally DOA but it's starting to get dicey.
I reserve my opinion to at least week after proper launch, here ppl are curious and play for free just to test things out, lets see how keen they are to fork up 40usd and play the game for week or two :)
Early guess would put it at 2/3rd between total flops like concord and concord2(highguard) and decently succesful titles like arcraiders/helldivers/marvels rivals, but again, need dat week or two after launch to get that hard data instead of guestimates and speculations :messenger_sunglasses:

One thing we gotta keep in mind its main game for bungie, so they spent hundreds of milions of usd of budget and long years of devtime, it has to be moderate success if not at helldivers2 lvl than at least half of that to break even, its not some no name AA devstudio that worked on the game 2years only in some hellhole with tiny salaries, its industry veterans with very high western based salaries, so ofc revenue/profits gotta be like that too to not be considered a flop.
