Monitoring the situation in Iran

It was already used in the first day of the conflict. There're a bunch o similar designs already

Let's also agree that there's nothing to reverse engineer there. This thing is basically a German drone engine (which looks like a motorcycle engine) with wings and a iridium phone for guidance.
It's all about quantity over quality. That's the new paradigm.

Easy solution to that

Well yeah, if countries could scan them for their level of assholery at the border. Unfortunately, they seem to be a little clever, and don't tell border control that they're willing to go crazy when they seek asylum.

The ones who already committed fellons yes sure, there's not many left who'd disagree that they got to leave.

It does.

P1. The current authoritarian shithole government was started from the Iranian Revolution.
P2. The Iranian Revolution was started as a protest due to discontent against the Western puppet government that catered to the interests of the US and UK over Iranians first.
P3. The US and UK staged an illegal coup that ousted the democratically chosen Prime Minister to install their puppet and take over their oil rights.
P4. The Iranian culture and system of government was seeing a natural shift towards Western culture under its own self-selected, sovereign government before the coup.
C. The discontent that sparked the Iranian Revolution probably wouldn't have been strong enough to overcome the natural Westernization of Iran if the US and UK hadn't illegally ousted Iran's Prime Minister for oil.

I know you did. I was demonstrating how political radicalization applies to other religions as well and isn't a uniquely Islamic trait, and that you bringing it up doesn't necessarily support your own thesis.

It still comes back to me asking you to use your worldview to explain Iran in the 60s and 70s and not getting a satisfying answer, because under your worldview, it wouldn't have been Westernized to that extent in the first place. The other stuff is just variations of why and how.
P1: Iran was ruled by a authoritarian religious shitheads for centuries, caliph or ayatollah, in the end it's a different name for the same thing. Like European kings, it's a guy who's boss because God said so and going against him is blasphemy
P2: The shah was anything but a puppet. Look up some CIA document from the 1970's and the Americans were very worried about the imperial ambitions of Pahlavi with him raising oil prices and going to the Eastern Bloc (Romania mostly) to get oil industry expertise
P3: Mossadegh was not democratically elected. The last and only election he stood in he stopped counting votes after he got the votes from the cities. He also held a referendum with different voting stations for Yes and No to oil nationalization in a time where being against it got you killed.
P4: The mullahs supported the ouster of Mossadegh as they feared the communists more than the shah. Operation Ajax was actually a failure but Mossadegh's position was very much weakened for another power grab not orchestrated by the West but with roughly similar alignment.

This idea of a mild, idyllic Iran that the West turned into religious fanatics in 1953 is kind of ridiculous. Those pictures of women in fancy clothes were a tiny portion of the overall population who had mostly been religious for 1400 years. And still are.

Asylum needs to be reworked to preserve an important institution. One should not be able to shop countries for asylum and governments should revert to strict reasons such as political persecution or war. Applications where refugees bypassed one or more safe countries to reach a border should be instant deportations.

France and Macron condemned the war just yesterday. Then Iran decided they needed more enemies and attacked the French air force base in Abu Dhabi. Now France is sending the only nuclear aircraft carrier in the world which doesn't belong to the US over

Maybe Europe will start learning lessons about how the US is actually their ally and start being nice to us instead of trying to push us away

Is it the same Macron who rolled out the red carped for al-Jolani and condemned Israel for their long overdue war against Hamas? Yeah right, guess this motherfucker still has no idea at which side he should stand.

I agree 100%, but also it can't just be the countries that are on EUs borders who have to handle all the asylum seekers, there must be (or rather should have been 15 years ago) a regulated, centralised and euqal distribution of all asylum seekers to all EU countries. But then you got countries like Hungary and Poland who'd never agree to that and that's one of many reasons why the asylum system in the EU failed and ruined a lot of leading countries.

Refusing those who cross safe countries would help. A Cameroonian trying to cross the Mediterranean from Tunisia has already ignored multiple safe countries on their path to get to the EU. Turkey is already a safe country(and takes many refugees) so any path up towards Greece would be rejected for bypassing safe countries. Enforcing stricter rules about asylum shopping and limiting asylum cases to those fleeing actual war or government prosecution makes it easier for countries to unite and help those truly in need rather than economic migrants. Its bizarre to hear cases of people who gained asylum, got their papers/citizenship, then later holiday in the home country.

First combat loss of a "coalition" aircraft. Probably friendly fire over Kuwait.

Probably a USAF (not confirmed, there are photos of the pilots but I'm not posting it) F15-E, both pilots ejected safely.

I'm curious how the alphabet antifa crew is gonna paint the IRGC as the helpless victims who "did nothing wrong" and the good guys while the straight white man is bad.
at some point right wingers need to focus on something else other than the "Alphabet Antifa", it is getting pathetic.

They will most probably do it when the left stops labelling everybody racist/fascists that do not share their political views. ;)

There was always a very high chance of a friendly fire incident in this conflict with the amount of stuff getting thrown about.

No deaths is the important part.

They can't and if they do? They look like cunts and the neuron starved subspecies they usually act like.
This does work both ways, and I would suggest it's been the left that can't help themselves with all this. They are just so focused on hating Trump that the context and nuance in all these matters tends to get lost. Even after the 2024 election, rather than looking inward at what their party did wrong, they would rather suggest Harris lost because of Racism, misogyny and poor education... Which is why they lost in the first place. As suggesting anyone that does not want to vote for you is bigoted in some way, will never be a winning strategy.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense has released a statement stating that multiple aircraft were involved and all the crews are safe. It remains unclear exactly what occurred:

"The spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense stated that several U.S. military aircraft crashed this morning, confirming the complete safety of their crews. He explained that the relevant authorities immediately initiated search and rescue procedures, whereby the crews were evacuated and transferred to the hospital to check on their health status and provide the necessary medical care, noting that their condition is stable. The official spokesperson added that direct coordination was conducted with the friendly U.S. forces regarding the circumstances of the incident, and joint technical measures were taken. He affirmed that the concerned authorities are following up on the investigations to determine the causes of the incident, calling for information to be obtained from its official sources."

The crewman's helmet decoration appears to be an exact match to one belonging one from the 335th Fighter Squadron out of Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina, which would make this a USAF F-15E. It is possible that the pilot or WSO who wore the helmet is at a different squadron now, but regardless, this is a USAF F-15E.

Per TWZ
There are photos of at least 3 maybe 4 different pilots. Someone got a itchy finger over Kuwait. What a shitshow.

I'm not taking a side when I say this, but won't the line simply be that America attacked Iran so Iran defensively attacked the American military bases that are close to it?

Military bases aren't considered to be (in this case) US soil, so technically you could make the argument that these are attacks on another nation, but they're clearly not targeting the host country, they're aiming for the country that is bombing them.

but they aren't attacking us bases, not anymore at least.

that would be the counter argument.

they just going scorched earth now.

I mean... that is what they are though :messenger_tears_of_joy:

for people that wanna be so badly on the right side of history they sure as hell keep picking the wrong sides

This is bad. I think Trump has miscalculated and this is going to end up giving serious pain for many countries.

Iran still have an enormous amount of drones and missiles.

I must admit that I haven't followed this very depressing chain of events closely but "they just going scorched earth" doesn't seem to match the news reports I just took a look at.

I mean, when you see airports and hotels and apartment blocks being bombed, you think that is US airbases?

And the multiple rocket barrages on Israel recently, sadly killing civilians?

While some US bases are being "targeted", they are very lenient in their targeting. Europe wouldn't be responding if it were just US bases; they'd still be partying in their security council meetings.

That's my worry. So far there isn't a sign of a mass uprising of people which is what is needed to end this fast.

If they're going to do this and don't want it to drag on then they need to absolutely obliterate the vast majority of their missile and drone infastructure, as well as remaining nuclear infastructure and IRGC bases and set them back years and then see what happens interally.

Economically they were already fucked and so the best shot of change now is severely weakening the regime and then sitting back, watching and being ready for a fast response should they immediately become hostile when talks begin.

Right now, they need to get rid of all of the IRGC's old guard and leadership. There is still a mass group of men and women who are in lockstep with the IRGC, and unless foreign countries put boots on the ground, an uprising right now will be a mass slaughter.

Right now, they are very reliant on these strikes to take out all the leaders and those who are eager to take their place (as we are seeing), in order for an uprising the world needs the people of Iran to have a fighting chance, that won't come overnight.

I wonder if Iran just keeps hitting around them and keeps blocking the strait, if at some point there will be a land invasion. Because you can keep bombing them as much as you like, but there will just be someone else ready to shoot the next rocket/drone. Look at all the other middle eastern countries the US attacked, attacks kept happening.

You can say to the people 'revolt' but nothing has changed for the people on the ground regarding getting shot if they dare to protest. The death of that pedophile worshipper kamehameha, or whatever his name is, did nothing for the living situation of the local populace to be honest.

I'm going to guess it will end again like the previous attacks on Iran and just start up again in a few months.

Saudi Oil refinery

AWS data Centres

I guess the counter here is that the AWS data centre is a us military asset:

To outpace our adversaries, warfighters need modern software—innovations to meet changes in the environment and that meet shifting battlefield priorities, rapidly and securely. This same software needs to work reliably, even as it modernizes—and without vulnerability to cyberattack. AWS helps you get there with landing zones, infrastructure as code, and DevSecOps architectural guidance.

I'm not sure if you could make the case for hitting the oil refinery as being part of an interruption in supply lines or not, but it's not the biggest jump:
The attack on Saudi Arabia's Ras Tanura refinery marks a significant escalation, with Gulf energy infrastructure now squarely in Iran's sights," said Torbjorn Soltvedt, principal Middle East analyst at risk intelligence firm Verisk Maplecroft.

Short of mass delivering or scattering (by air) rifles to the populace, it's hard to see how a civilian uprising is possible, even with the regime being kept off balance by killing the leaders.

Watch how well the (relatively) unarmed mob attacking the US consulate in Pakistan went. A burst of fire and the attack is over instantly. Only the discipline of those firing kept it to only some of the attackers being dead instead of all of them being dead.

A civilian overthrow of the regime may be the desired outcome, but the US eventually having to work with the remainder of the regime (after it has been seriously degraded and had its attitude corrected) seems the more likely outcome right now. Possibly the military will fracture into a power struggle once enough leadership has been killed, and the US will have an opportunity to pick a side it would prefer to work with.

With the Strait of Hormuz blocked and oil refineries set on fire with drones, the world economy is going to get a nasty shock. What a mess.
