From the reports the performance on pc seems great but that was without denuvo.

Glad to be in good company. Give me weighty, animation driven gameplay with complex controls and deep mechanics over 'it's a videogame, it has to immediately do what I want it to'.

Still hope the weighty gameplay from rdr2 makes it into GTA VI, people would lose their shit 🙏

It won't affect performance. That whole thing ended up being not true except for like one game where it was poorly implemented. Basically a bunch of YouTube grifters parroted that rhetoric and then it spread across socials and became fact. People actually tested it and it ended up bs.

We have examples of games being affected by Denuvo. This doesn't mean every game with Denuvo has performance issues but its definitely enough reason to be worried

I'm telling you there's been a lot of fud over this, like that Hogwart's Legacy comparison video which ended up being totally fake but went viral and helped push the denuvo = performance hit narrative. It's just not an issue outside of a few older cases from years ago.
 
I was (and still am) planning to buy this game. But the news of Denuvo being added to it has deflated my hype by about 50%.

Particularly because we heard from Digital Foundry and a bunch of other previewers that the PC performance is optimized to mind-blowing levels, but it is very likely that the preview builds did not have Denuvo. So now i dont know what kind of performance to expect.

What about the reviews that are dropping a day before launch ? Will those review copies be with or without Denuvo ?

People have their marketing / release strategies. If they planned it internally and are looking to target such a date and then another competitor somehow has the same date, oh well then. They shouldn't have to be in fear and change their dates just because something else is potentially in conflict. It's just roll of the dice with this kind of stuff.

I see this in the music industry too. Planning an event to have a DJ perform at x club, set a date and then find out another club is bringing in a major DJ name at another. You're already selling tickets. You're not going to cancel plans and switch. Just have to eat it and make the best out of it.

Sony knew EXACTLY when Crimson Desert was releasing, when they announced release date of DS2 on pc. I get you when they would have announced it before Crimson Desert did...but that wasnt the case. They have all the freedom to push it back. Sony was doing staggered releases all the time with these pc ports.

Sony wants to prove to Kojima that releasing on PC isn't worth it and they'll have the launch numbers to prove it. Kojima will agree to go full PS exclusive next gen joining the rest of their studios.

I adored the first Death Stranding. I played it to death and still like to install and wander around on occasion. Crimson Desert no question if it looks good and interests you. We've already been forced to wait for DS2 and are considered a second class of customer. Why not wait a bit longer, catch it on sale, and also support a dev who leads with PC?

Edit: But seriously, what is this game!? It has everything and now a train network (I'm assuming). I saw another video of him falling from a Tears of the Kingdomesque sky land smash cut with gameplay of a mech suit. There is no way this works right? Right? This is a scam.... right?
