Crimson Desert |OT| We've Got Quest(ion)s

The only thing so far that I'm not liking is how the characters' feet clip on the ground. I don't think that will get fixed but still excited to play this game.

Im only gonna check one or two reviews but I don't see how anyone would be done with this game to review by release time. Was it said how long review copies were in the hands of reviewers?

I think it was three weeks ago. But some YouTubers received the review code this week.

There is no enemy scaling, so if a boss is too difficult, you can leave and come back later when you've got your stats/gear up. It sounds like this game will be as difficult or as easy as you want it to be. For all we know, the player in that clip might just not be ready for that boss.
 
is this using the same engine as the Horizon or Death stranding games? it looks absolutely nuts visually..

We will see now the game is upon release but right now it sure is weird that a super ambitious game like this isn't looked at as a possible win for the industry. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a disguised evolution of the "Baldurs Gate 3 is bad for the industry" argument after it released. Game journos are carrying water for slop that we have to wade through to get ambitious games like this.
They are the same people that will look for positives in garbage like Highguard and Concord before release and suddenly become extremely critical when a game outside their AAA bubble looks a bit too ambitious and looks like it might be too successful. They only get this tense when a game comes out that will highlight just how low the AAA bar has gotten.
I don't give a fuck how this is reviewed, Whether it makes game context sense or not, I've been waiting on an amazing looking, systems heavy sandbox like this.

The ridiculous hate this game is getting is two-fold.

On the one hand, you have the access media, that criticize anything not coming from their favorite slop producers or well established studios. Also, there's an anti-Asian bias that they apply to everything coming from Korea. They know they can't touch Capcom or Nintendo but these "nobodies" from Korea are fair game.

The double standards are clear to see.

On the other, we have fanboys of other IPs that feel "threatened" by this new game that was supposed to be vaporware (God knows why) and now that it's real and looking more technically advanced than their fav games, they need to drag it through the mud.

Really pathetic.

That's the fucking large elephant in the room that I eluded to in a previous thread. Crimson Desert is a Korean game.

This game might make me change my mind on the psychoticly competitive korean society which sacrifices people on the altar of overwork and overachievement, but only if it's GOTYE material :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Theres another thread about someone that had a tour of the devs work building. They definitely arent being treated as slaves there.
 
This is out Thursday right? Preloading I think starts on the 17th.

Hype hasn't really reached full mast yet. Probably won't even happen until Thursday-ish, regardless of reviews or GAF opinions.

The only thing that worries me is if it's actually that good and then it winds up keeping me up til 5AM Thursday. I can't miss work on Friday.

Getting old blows donkey dicks.

Unintentionally very funny moment in a early "review" (its not that) where the guy starts to talk about the physics being "amazing" and then just talks about slope sliding, which a reddit post compares it to RDR 2. The game actually has some cool physics destruction in it as well, what a bizarre thing to focus on lmao, of all the things he could've highlighted...

The goddam L3 + / then R3 combos will be a huge hassle but im sure you can make a build less focused on those and still win fights without much trouble.
