I completely disagree. GiantBomb said Skyrim is the best game released last year. How much more of an endorsement can they possibly give? It's way beyond giving it a 5/5 because it's saying it's better than any 5/5 last year.
GotY awards do attract people to games.
It's GiantBomb's GotY, not Jeff's or Ryan's or anyone else. They decided to put out an institutional opinion.
Except they specifically said during one of the discussion they felt a "top list" was different enough from review that they didn't feel their "bias" was an issue.
