I hope you realise that's just a 360 degrees video that you control with the Wii U controller instead of a mouse.

Well, after playing SS and seeing just how annoying it is that the thing seems like it needs to set every few mins I would be all for a "Wiimote Perfect" that, like the Sony thing, doesn't need that. And the NK should have it as well.
But Nintendo be assholes with this so we'll see. I wonder if the tablet can be used with the Wiimote+ to do this ... hope so.
Finished Metroid Fusion again (so good) this afternoon, and it leaves me hungry for more 2D Metroid! What do you guys think the chances of a 2D Metroid Dread/Metroid V on the Wii U are?
To me it seems a better fit than the 3DS. The controller could potentially be used very nicely as well (e.g. hold up the comtroller to the screen for 2D X-ray Visor). A 1080p Super Metroid style game would also be gorgeous.
Thoughts?

It's crazy that Nintendo is pretty much jumping an entire generation... I'm so hyped to see how all their franchises look HD'd up. Can't wait. CAN'T WAIT.
I think he meant Nintendo "skipped" the sub-HD generation.Did I miss something?

With Retro developing Prime 4 and Intelligent Systems Metroid Dread we could have both at the same time. Yeah.I want a brand new metroid prime.
I don't want to assume this, though it is a possibility. We still have no idea what the final Wii U is like.Alright. Nintendo rather seems to step into a mid-generation, something between the current and the upcoming Xbox console.
Did I miss something?
lol couldn't believe it either, it was cute.I'm late on this, but I can't believe people thought the street view thing was rendered. That would've looked spectacular as rendered footage. Some should be prepared to have their expectations shattered.
I'm pretty sure if it was rendered it would not have been available for the press to see. They want one huge surprise in E3.I'm late on this, but I can't believe people thought the street view thing was rendered. That would've looked spectacular as rendered footage. Except that's not the point of that demo.
Have we seen anything as beautiful this gen as that Zelda tech demo (regardless of 720p ={)?
Honestly the Zelda demo looked nice but you can't really gauge enough from it to compare it to games we've seen this generation. Anyway it's all meaningless in the end, it's a fact that the Wii-U will be capable of outputting better graphics than the prettiest looking games this gen (uncharted/god of war/etc), it'll be up to the developers and nintendo's first parties especially to make it happen.Have we seen anything as beautiful this gen as that Zelda tech demo (regardless of 720p ={)?

What is the point of it then?

And they'll continue thinking that 5 years from now even after being proven wrong repeatedly.Well, some people think the console will only be as powerful as an XBox360, so it only figures that we'll have people on the other end of the spectrum who think it could produce photorealistic graphics.
Here's some speculation. Nintendo could be planting the seeds for a Chrono Trigger sequel.
Zelda SS uses the sensor bar for the sword, and that does lose calibration after a while if you're not pointing towards the screen.
It's like you people do this to yourselves on purpose.
It's so they can hate Nintendo later.
Believe.

I want an Actraiser sequel, with sim mode.
If I don't get it I'm not buying this thing!
This panaromaview got me thinking.
I am sure it has been said already, but who thinks there will be a headgear peripheral that you can attach the controller on so you can play VR-type game? You would use the wiimote+nunchuck to play.
Though... the controller is maybe too big for that, what do you guys think?
It looks like Nintendo Technology Development, the Seattle based hardware group under Howard Cheng, has been quite busy researching and developing several of the technologies being used in Project Cafe. One of the more interesting features is their work on tracking systems and head-mounted stereoscopic displays along with CPU and GPU research and evaluation.
I'd buy that JUST for the soundtrack, so fucking good.Put me down for Actraiser with full sim mode. I'd even take a 3d remake of the 2d original.
ONE GUY DRIVES THE CONVO, WITH THE MAIN SCREEN, PLAYER 2 MANS TURRENT FROM ENEMIES 360 DEGREES!!!
I want a Pokemon Snap HD remake using the controller as a camera.
Otherwise this console looks stupid and I WILL NOT PURCHASE IT!!!
I'd buy that JUST for the soundtrack, so fucking good.
Hell, if it came with a CD I'd buy 10 copies.
And keep all of them, forever.
Goddamn that game is still beautiful almost 10 years later.
And Kirby would still be the same.I want Nintendo to push its teams to have at the very least CG target renders ready for e3 for all of its major franchises. I know it won't happen, but I keep imagining a SSB reveal trailer like scenario where the character's Wii models are 'upgraded' to 'HD' before our eyes. I think that would get a lot of people excited.

Correct, but it does use the sensor bar for on the fly re-calibration. Do this test. Take your sensor bar and put it on the left or right of yourself and not on the TV. Move the sword slowly so Link copies your movements. When your Wii Remote "Sees" the sensor bar on the side, your "centre" will move.No. Zelda SS uses Motion+ for everything. You don't need to point to the screen to use it.
I believe that is a Dolphin shot.

That was the single best way of showing the difference between the Wii and Gamecube although i felt that Samus would have been a better choice instead of Pikachu because the difference between Melee Samus and Brawl Samus was a lot more impressive.
