The news on Harbaugh and Baalke is not on NFL.com and if you google search for it all you get is this: http://www.ninersnation.com/2012/1/...pro-football-weekly-honors-jim-harbaugh-trent

All it says is that they were honored by PFW.

Is that what you're referring to?

I dunno, I got it from Jed York's twitter so I thought he had notice from the league. Maybe he's just talking about the PFW awards and not the NFL ones? here's what he said:

Congrats to Trent (Executive of the Year) and Jim (Coach of the Year)! The entire #NinerFaifthful are blessed by your leadership.

I remember you, you're one of the five.

Also......

FLACCOIZED!!!!

I don't want to hurt you feelings and all, 'cause I'm a nice guys, but you did a really shitty job on my avatar.

Please don't stab me.

OH I agree...but every damn week it is someone saying...

Oh they got lucky...
Oh Alex Smith can't win the big game...
Oh they can't win a shootout....

So basically there are 13 excuses as to why they won and 3 "I told you they suck" games.

If the media would give them their due respect then yeah a 13-3 second seed team shouldn't be underdogs.

At the beginning of the year. The 49ers were like preseason 65-1 odds going to the Super Bowl how the fuck isn't that an underdog?

There are lots of teams that should be winning...San Diego Chargers, New York Jets....etc
Bottom line it takes more then all stars to win football games.

So you can have a lot of picks and still be underdogs.

I'm just telling Larry why people aren't all up on the Ravens like they are the 49ers.
Whether you like it or not I'm sure that is the SHEEPLE's perspective.

Just like SHEEPLE think Drew Brees single handedly rebuilt New Orleans after Katrina and Tim Tebow is the greatest QB ever.

I know the 49ers are a damn good football team, the body of work this season shows it.

I see your points, but I still feel they are not underdogs. Their team is good. They should had been good these last years probably (bad coaching held them back?). They are full of first rounders for being bad all those years. That first round talent failed, and that should be noted (other teams first round talent fails as well, I understand that).

Football is weird. Any team can bubble up and be successful based on many factors not expected/seen during the pre season. Those pre-season stuff is just predictions based on prior performance. Based on prior performances, 9ers should had been rated low/mid grade season.

For whatever reason, things came together. We've had a full season to see how they have played. Based on that, they are a good team, which earned the 2 seed. They are not underdogs, imo. How can a franchise with such rich history be so downtrodden and rag tag?

That said, I know why the general public would say the 9ers are underdogs and all that.

BTW, I am a Chargers fan. If they finally bubble up and actually do something in the playoffs, it wouldn't be an underdog story. It would be what they should be doing with their (supposed) talent. They haven't even won a super bowl either.

Maybe the public thinks Tebow or Bress are solely responsible for whatever success their teams had, but I don't think that all.

LOOK AT ALL THESE NINER FANS!

I remember like 5 from week one.

I have been here all year:

This season is going to be great for my 9ers. I think they will get the #2 seed, and then beat the Saints at home on a last second TD from small hands to VD. Then they will beat the Giants in the NFC championship, and then good Harbaugh will beat bad Harbaugh for the SB.

LOOK AT ALL THESE NINER FANS!

I remember like 5 from week one.

Been a Niners fan from Germany for over 20 years.

I've watched the NFL at a friends house when I was 14 years old.
His house stood a little higher, so he was able to receive AFN from a nearby american airbase. The downside: The picture was black and white, and there was no sound. Didn't stop us from following the Niners.

A couple of years later, a german PayTV station got the rights to the NFL. Well, only Monday Night Football and the Playoffs were shown live, but it was better than nothing. I really appreciated having color and sound in my NFL broadcast!

On November 20, 1995, I watched the Niners at Miami on Monday Night, despite having to take my driving test the next morning. Got up at 3:00am to watch the game. Niners won, I passed the test, got 100 bucks from my grandma, and went to bed.

Yes: I didn't dare to post in the NFL threads around here since recently. But I'm anything but a bandwagon fan. LET'S GO NINERS!

We don't like Germans 'round these parts.

so you're a lifelong fan

so you're a lifelong fan

I'm a lifelong fan of Eintracht Frankfurt. You can't grow up in Germany without starting to root for your local football team in kindergarten (either that, or you're already a Bayern bandwagoner).

I started getting interested in american sports around age 14. I remember already being a Niners fan when Montana was traded to the Chiefs. Never rooted for another football team. Didn't even care for Frankfurt Galaxy playing at my doorstep.

Damn bandwagoners, I've been here all year supporting my Niners!
I was here when we crushed those dirty Bucs, what a shit team with shit owners and a fat QB.
