The point is, the whistle was blew early. How is this different than the fumble always seen, someone taking a big hit, falling backwards as the ball is coming out - usually after a sack. I guess technically the forward progress stopped at the point of the hit and the ball was coming out as he was going backwards too. They NEVER reverse that type of call and the whistle never blows. It was a bull fucking shit call.

Ok, well, according to the rules you are wrong. You can continue to be salty about that call if it helps you feel better I guess.

The Niners defense played out of their minds today. They deserve all the accolades they get and did everything in their power to win the game today. Hats off to them.

On the other hand, Alex Smith is who we thought he was.

You should put some money on it. Your prognostication powers are clearly flawless.

FYI I called the Niners win over the Saints several times last week as well but had made an avatar bet with FMT after trolling him about the Niners chances so was rooting for the Saints. I have no stake in the Super Bowl, don't really care for either team and am indifferent to the eventual victor, but in terms of the obvious pick it's the Pats, and again it's not because they're favored.

So I tried arguing to my friend that if Eli wins this Superbowl, that he should be recognized as the better Manning. He counter-argued saying Peyton will be a always better due stats, more playoff appearances, and the whole bunch. What do you guys say?

Peyton is infinitely more valuable to his team than Eli is. They didn't win today's game or the last Super Bowl they played in because of him. They were lucky to win both.

I remember Brady looking like a scared punk dodging ghosts against the Jets. MVPs are meaningless if you don't do shit in the playoffs. Just please stop posting

you know he cant..the pats have done NOTHING since they got caught in 04 and even in the the bowl against the giants the lost..like you said mvp`s mean nothing when you cant make it in when it actually counts

Peyton is borderline GOAT material, so yes he's better than Eli. SBs are not the best metric to rank QBs by. Was Dilfer better than Marino?

That said, Eli belongs (at the very least) in the Big Ben "underappreciated elite QB" category at this point. Dude's great.

Peyton is better, but this is the type of game that Peyton almost always loses. Eli was taking some vicious hits. Almost every time I've seen Peyton receive some serious pressure from the defense he's folded. Its been his modus operandi since he's been in the spotlight.

I have no idea who is going to win the Super Bowl.I can see it going either way.

I don't see the Patriots winning this game. I just have no faith in Brady against good defenses. Todays Pats game made me worried about Brady again. It was the same shit we have seen this season. He looks good at times, but makes retarded decisions, and misses the easy throws.

Being a Cowboys fan I am pissed now. We let the Giants in by missing two game winning kicks, and then losing to them. That's a pretty crazy bunch of circumstances that needed to occur for them to even make the playoffs, now look.

Go Patriots.

That Romo to Austin "lost it in the lights" incompletion will haunt me for years if the Giants win the superbowl.

Well, I didn't kill myself, so there's that

You guys played a hell of a game.

It should be a close game. They had the last meeting won if not for those 2 PI calls.Whatever happens I'll be glad they made it with this defense.

So some chick with big tits will be on American Idol. Steven Tyler snake man still scares the living shit out of me.

I did the slo-mo on the commercial...she is pretty damn hot. Won't watch that shit show though.

Edit: I lied, she was just on. She didn't make the cut. But she was pretty damn hot.

Just walked our dog around the block. 5:00 a.m. now over here.

I'm pretty depressed right now. We were so close...

Oh, and regarding Kyle Williams: Cut him some slack. He's still very young and inexperienced.

There's no need to be bitter about this loss.
This has been a very successful season for the 49ers.
It's sad that it's over now, but we'll be back. Soon.

Except I gave you an example where I am right. Either I'm right about the rules or they don't enforce it correctly.

From an outsider's point of view, I thought it was a good call. Those things occasionally go back and forth, which is frustrating. Sorry it went against you though; it's a pretty terrible feeling.

Totally in enemy territory this Super Bowl. Going to a Super Bowl party that'll purely be made up of New England fans.

as a Giants fan, I feel we got really lucky on both of those games... I am really scared of Patriots aka the Empire.

Kyle Williams should definitely be cut, just not slack.

He's still the besst since Joe. He got his team to the SB with that shitty defense. Nuff said.
The Packers/Saints would've cleaned house in the terrible AFC too.

Not saying the Pats have no chance in a single game situation, because obviously it's the NFL and they do... but IMO the two NFC models of great offense/bad defense were clearly superior teams, and both of them got bounced.

wrt being the "best since Joe"... maybe '03-'07 Brady. Not anymore. (and a lot of QBs have had great 5 year stretches)

I love this. It's all luck. Jacquain Williams knocking the ball out of a guy running by him is just the stars aligning. Not a guy making a play. Chile please.

Sound like an Eagles fan with that nonsense. "Giants are the luckiest team EVER!"

If so? Great! I'll take "luck" and wins over supposed "skill" and losses.

Fuck, I just realized we will have to hear about "The Catch" over and over again for the next two weeks.

As if I wasn't sick of it already. Sure it was amazing but jesus christ.
