Very nice! haha @ 1:22 where you was ready to restart![]()
I got 1:48.46 already. Same exact route except I didn't hit the tree and played it bit more smoothly.
To get off the rail hit Triangle.

X/A. It just feels really weird using the right stick, too much going on with the controller to do it.With the standard controls, are people using A or the right stick to jump?
This game seems less like a snowboarding game and more like a racing game in the context of snowboarding. It's a shame because this is, IMO, the closest any snowboard game has come to Skate controls, and I would give a limb for these controls to be used in a realistic snowboarding game, ala skate.

Keep working on it. It's not that hard imo. You want to find the fastest route through the track that also allows you to stay grounded most of the time while starting Tricky when needed. I think I can get 1:47, maybe 1:46.

has there been a performance comparison between the ps3 version and 360 version yet? im assuming the additional content for ps3 is due to an inferior port, like with most multiplat games
Oooh god, it's so hard not to turn on my PS3 and just check RiderNet just to see if I've been beat..
That's not why, those deals are made long before they know the game's quality on respective builds. LA Noire had exclusive PS3 stuff, and was better on there. The shortcut below the tree log was just incredible. I need to try really hard if I'm ever to beat that. You should totally post that run on Merq City.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ_SKHJlnp4

I stayed right as much as I could and had a pretty good time just going through the more "natural" stuff. Very plain because you're obviously not meant to go there, but I thought it was a relaxing diversion.
A true HUDless, pointless, slightly slower free ride would really be gold.
I agree with the rails complaints. In both Race It and Trick It, they unhinered me much more that they helped. It's simply too easy to get on them when you aren't even trying.
To grind trees and other things that aren't rails, you have to press a button. Would have preferred if it that way for rails too.

I have to use A to jump since pre-winding with the R-stick doesn't appear to work all the time and it frustrated the hell outa me. For tricks I use the R stick though since its so much easier and more intuitive than using buttons.
I tried this approach too, but it seemed to me that if I used the button to jump (in standard) instead of the stick , I ended with a much weaker jump that what you can accomplish with the stick... at least that's how it felt to me... so in the end I returned to the stick and I have gotten used to it....
Those of us over at the hardcore community (MerquryCity.com) have made it clear that we want a HUD-less option. The developers responded by saying they would try to patch it in. The developers have been pretty keen in listening and keeping in touch with us so I'm really optimistic about it.
True all the time i had no clue what tricks woul de look like. The game is fun but hell naw it aint no ssxAwesome video except it really points out a major problem I have with the game. Previous SSX games you could actually see the tricks. This game just looks like a flashy blurry mess of movement.
Are you using jump (A button) in conjunction with a direction the Left analog stick? That's how you get huge jumps/spins.
Has there been any confirmation via review copies that confirm equality with both standard and classic control modes? At least in the demo, you certainly spin/flip nearly twice as fast using standard.
It should be allright in full. Dont have link to merq city, but Todd Batty posted answer and is/was looking into that.

You know what that SSX3 video features? A replay function.![]()
Stop reminding me.
It'd be cool to listen to people remix their custom soundtracks by playing the game.
Your stupid ghost is haunting me. I know the line I need to take but I keep getting thrown off by the little blue guy constantly in front of me.
North American 360 GAFers have a chance to win a copy of the game in a contest I've organised. Read full contest details here.
No trick contest? Boooo!
Nah I'm kidding. Good luck to those getting those snowflakes.
I didn't want to make it a trick or race contest because I felt it would be unfair to a lot of people who aren't trick/race masters.![]()
