lookin great like most other kyoani productions.

Why does the thumbnail gallery allow me to click on a pic to "enlarge" it... only to give me a slightly bigger thumbnail? Lol Japan.
think of it as some kinda internet matryoshka doll

Guilty Crown 18

What the hell? Season 1 was bad and way too slow. Season 2 is actually interesting and goes way too fast. This such stupid bullshit.

Steins;Gate 25:

Cute, completely insubstantial. And I'm okay with that, this was mostly a cameo fanservice episode anyway.

Super Robot Wars OG The Inspector 23

The show certainly hit its stride at a good time. Likely didn't hurt they're past all the parts from the game they needed to distill and can wrap things up properly. The Kyosuke/Excellen interaction was one of the strong points of the game and it's great to see it transferred so well to the anime.

I adore when a bit of animation successfully captures a sense of force.

Melody of Oblivion 17

This show can be so great when they just play it straight. All the weird shit detracts but I suppose that's the idenity they were after.

BArmor Hunter Mellowlink 4

Another fine episode. Mellowlink found himself trapped and hunted in a crashed spaceship that was effectively a leaning tower hence the episode's name. Action was secondary to tension this ep as Mellowlink navigated the ship. It was a bit disorienting at times as the frames always focused on him leaving the background rotated due to the ship being mostly perpindicular to the ground. The sense of height was handled well, I thought, in the two docking bay door scenes which induced a weird anxiety regarding height I don't normally get from animation. I'm interested in the intelligence officer's motivations now too as he's evidently not just a narrator and seems to be a complement to Mellowlink's clear motivations.

G Gundam 1

If the series is mostly Domon kicking ass, I'll be happy with this series. The OP sure had me psyched.

Getter Robo 1

I wasn't sure what I'd get from a 1974 anime series but was pleasantly surprised to find a fun show (for at least the first episode). It was a little more violent than I expected as well given the Getter test pilots get killed right quick

and the first Mechasaurus gets its head and tail lopped off.

I've never seen "smug asshole" represented so well via a still image.

Ryoma and Hayato are issued uniforms. Musashi gets to wear whatever the fuck he brought from home.

I haven't been interested in this one at all, but it is Kyoani when they're tying to tell a story. I'm in it for the storyboards, at the least.

Haibane Renmei 8

Holy shit this close shot of the windmill moving was so fucking ugly. I had to pause the thing just to look at its ugliness.

One Piece 80

Man, episodes like these are the reason why this series is so much above all the rest.

Awesome moments and settings, crazy shit, new characters you start caring about and understanding after 4 minutes of screen time...

I'm so glad I still have literally hundreds of episodes ahead of me. It's actually scary to think in what state the series will be by the time of the most recent arc considering how it never stops getting better, episode after episode.

I dont know the arc before the most recent was amazing, it cant compare to the epic action and emotion.

Though next month I can finally see episodes dubbed beyond 103, yes!

Blood-C Episode 03

Hey uhhh Saya shouldn't you like... I dunno do something, I mean he's - oh.

Well.

Nevermind I guess.

Pretty boring episode but cool fight scene though.

Amagami SS+ 8: Bromehara and truck driver save the day again. I like how he comes out of nowhere on a boat while Junichi and Kaoru are making out on the beach. Give this man an ova (with Keiko). Anyway after getting stranded, they hitch a ride with a nice truck driver who leads them to a old inn run by a nice old lady. They spend the night while a monkey steals Kaoru's bra. They fight some more and get along some more. Stuff ends with them just agreeing that it's just fun to be with each other and the trip cemented that.

A pretty fun arc I guess kinda like Kaoru herself. A fun person to be with. I think the amount of perversion was higher in quantity for this arc than the others. Sae's arc is next and I can only hope for more Jouji Nakata narration.

Milk Holmes II 2: A fun although kind of standard episode where they temporarily get back their toys. While this sort of resetting is kinda meh the stuff they had in this episode was particularly entertaining for me. I liked the repeat of the girls going back to their old jobs from the first season. It wasn't overdone. Herc is adorable. From her modeling for art and her shy nature (although it does get a bit tiresome when she can't even tell the others about the toys till they lose it again) The overblown chasing of chasers chasing other things with the rich Mr. Drill, the Milky Homies, the sushi guy and the English diplomat was funny.

Haha been watching one piece as well. Got to the sand arc (100s?). Good stuff. The pacing is still a bit slow which is probably more the manga's fault. Chopper's VA fits his character perfectly imo. So adorable!

Also...

InuXBoku 7

Best eps ever.

Umm, quite the...thing?
I dunno. I dunno what to say about this one.
Was it entertaining? Not even that, really. But it was not...not entertaining? Ugh, I give up.

Reborn 191-195

Dislike the new ED. Anyway everyones Vongola Box fight are so epic. G's Archery especially and Gokudera's resolve just to stand by as a right hand man and laugh along with Tsuna.

Ken even got involved in the arc, byon, lol.

Dead Leaves
It wasn't really my cup of tea, either, despite how much I tried to like it. There was at least something unique enough about its presentation, but it was hard to stay engaged since it felt like it was just wasting my time.

I guess there's something to say about the amount of absurdity on display, but it's not quite as enjoyable, on my end, since it knows how silly it's trying to be. There's something about a more naive (or perhaps unintentional) absurd than one trying really hard that appeals to me, and DL didn't have that.

Question, has anyone here watched all of Capeta? I recall watching 2-3 eps & liking it. I figure I might as well give it a shot to fill in my sports drama niche(because the current offerings aren't working).

Any thoughts or opinions?

It's a problem that Imaishi has when he's intentionally going all out. PSG largely suffers from the same thing. TTGL doesn't.

Good to know, because I thoroughly enjoyed TTGL, but I lost interest in PSG after the first six episodes or so. I don't think I ever got to the episodes with the devil girls.

Yeah, most definitely along the same lines as to why I couldn't enjoy it. It seemed to be having fun, so I wanted to have fun with it, but it just tries so hard to be bonkers 24/7 it just gets to a "face-palming" degree and beyond.

Just like Panty & Stocking.

Let's just say there's a dry spell coming up.

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom Episodes 1-3

Liking this so far but don’t know how it’s going to hold out for 26 episodes. I predict Zwei will persuade Ein to help him take down Inferno.

Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honneamise

I’m not really sure what to write about this. I feel like I just watched something special. My heart actually started beating faster as they neared the end of the countdown. While this may not be my favorite thing Gainax has done I admit there’s something special about this movie. Don’t really get why they needed that
attempted rape scene
, but whatever. So yeah, damn fine movie.

Phantom was a definite guilty pleasure of mine. It got increasingly stupid with each ep, but the fun kind of stupid. It holds. It also had a good OST, for what it's worth.

That's good to know. I like stupid fun. Was kind of hoping it would get darker and more depressing with each episode though.

Blood-C Episode 4 & 5

Alright there's gotta be something up with
Mr. Guimauve dude. The teacher's gotta be in on something too
. Feels like the show is starting to pick up pretty quickly now.

Dat cliffhanger!

Off to episode 6~

Haibane Renmei 10

I'm trying to form some sentences to describe how much I loved these last couple episodes and the new things they explored but I can't. It's just that good.

I find it odd they never mentioned Abandoned Factory before. I mean it never occurred to me there might be other headquarters for Haibane people, but I thought that would be something they will mention to Rakka early on. Maybe I just missed it.

that scene supposed to like, you know... represent the moral and ethical failings of humanity... or something. doesn't make it any less misogynist though.

Ano Natsu 4

MANAMIIII!! This ep was cute, but droned on a bit. I could see why, if I wanted to, but I don't exactly think the effect was intended. I need to stop just handing out intents.

I’m not good with interrupting stuff. I just assumed it meant
she was a prostitute and that’s why he tried to rape her. Cause you know he’d been seeing her but she wouldn’t sleep with him but she’d sleep with other men for money.

I agree though, it's still misogynist no matter how you roll the dice.
