Dropping dead weight Gragnani and moving Kassian (not very impressed with him lately, but should bring something to the table if he chooses to)...I'm fine with this deal. Sorry Canucks GAF :(

I can't even belive Darcy did this.
 
Makes sense that Regier would get another center. I thought it was strange they traded Gaustad for just picks.

Didn't expect them to get a hot prospect like this though.

He's played less than an entire season up here, only having been up for a bunch of games here or there.

A little early to judge. I'll miss him for what I imagined he'd become.

Which is why I said he might be good in the future. I don't think I'd be wrong if I said that he's achieved much less than Hodgson so far.

I apologize to Soc for saying Hodgson wouldn't be traded.

I fucking hate the deal. Hodgson is proven now. Kassian is supposed to be good. Big difference between "supposed to be" and "is".
 
As a vancouver resident who hates the canucks, just lol. Just fuckin' lol.
How stupid is this trade, Hodgson has been top 5 in rookie scoring all year with 12 minutes of ice time...can't wait to see this trade backfire when he gets 15+ minutes in buffalo and rips it up...just wow
 
I don't know enough about Kassian to comment on him, but I've seen a fair bit of Hodgson. I'm one part upset Vancouver lost CH, two parts upset that CH landed in the Northeast.

Kassian has been hard to judge so far. It's like he's still finding his feet in the NHL. He hasn't done much super impressive, to be frank, but he hasn't been an awful bust either. He's going to be an absolute beast of a fighter though, if his days in JRs are any indication, and he's not afraid to hit.

Don't think they got Kassian for him the be a big time point scorer, Kassian will be good for them in the playoffs.

Raw unpolished power forward. Lots of potential, still a bit reckless.

Had a few good NHL games when he was first called up but faded into the background for most of the rest. Needs more AHL time.

I guess he was a lot better in the AHL after he was sent back down, made the AHL all star team.

Wishing Hodgson all the best. I hope he does really well in Buffalo with more ice time and some better linemates.

Kassian had better turn out well. He's the type of forward we need, but he's more of a question mark and won't be able to help us immediately like Hodgson did.

He had some massive shoes to fill, there will be a LOT of angry Canucks fans. Everyone loved Hodgson an if we didn't already have 2 awesome
Centres he'd easily play 2n line. Because of this I figured he'd be traded, but... I was just expecting a WAY bigger return. Fuck this shit.

Also @Sabres Hodgson does well in SO's, just fyi. He's great, treat him well. -wipes off tear-

It might work out well for you guys if he becomes a Steve Ott type in a couple of years, but it's definitely a risk. Hodgson has the potential to thrive on the Sabres, who will likely give him a lot of offensive minutes.

Sabres are like our expansion brothers. Except when they two-timed us on Erhoff and that time where they fell asleep at the wheel and Mogilny escaped in a boat.
