MARGARET, why you so moe though? Also, Yu's about 3 steps in every direction from NTRing a bro. Not cool. Kanji got there first, and you don't even really care. (SIDE POINT: Which does bring up an interesting intent facet of the games themselves. When it's written that the other characters do have feelings for one another, and the player, still, is given the option to romantically bulldoze every one of them, and does, what exactly does this say about the player? It's funny--or not, depending on the view--that it was Atlus that did it, as I'd actually expect an undercurrent like that from them and the usual themes they party with. Something like ME doesn't actually touch on this at all, and is kept clean, since of course no one is interested in anybody but space jesus.)
On the note of Naoto, I never realized just how damn effective Soejima's design for him was. Aside from the obvious

On average, the sales aren't that much better than Samurai Champloo unless I'm mistaken. Don't see why they should announce a 3rd season either!

There are two camps on this, but oen of them is clearly wrong. The movie adds in some extended sequences, cuts others and re-arranged the story in a manner which severely damages characterisation across the board. Oh, and it adds in a lot of ugly, obvious CG.
Avoid at all costs.

Watch the anime, see if you enjoy the pacing after a few episodes.
If not, then read the manga but only if you're given the anime a fair shot. Simply going into the manga without at least trying the manga is foolish because the anime is very competently made, has a strong cast and a fitting soundtrack.
This is the gospel truth.

It really depends what you're looking for, I suppose. Are you looking into get into the whole show, or just get a taster of what a Macorss title is like?
It's not really a place to start with the series in the sense that it doesn't spend any amount of time detailing the story of the Macross universe.
However, it does contain several key elements present across many Macross titles - music, a love triangle, transforming giant robots etc. Yet the tone of this title is extremely different from the original show produced in the 80's, so simply watching this won't give you a feel for what the original show was like.
Yet, as it's only a four-part OVA, so it's much more digestible than a 26 episode series. I'd say that you should watch Macorss Plus because it's a really great OVA that everyone should watch anyway, not just those interested in getting into the Macross franchise.

It's hilarious because it barely looks better than the Golgo 13 cgi from 10 years prior.
ANN is quite slow I guess. I think it was already removed when duckroll tried to find it on the site. I suppose the assumption now is that they jumped the gun on the announcement. Either that or it was a pretty awesome troll.

I really love the rules of the other world.
Having an entire alternate reality where the equivalents of specific people shoulder said person's burdens and grief and then get rid of them upon death is an awesome concept. It's essentially a really neat twist on the "if humans weren't capable of negative thought, there would be no suffering" villain motivation.

Haha, yeah. Ep 15 was absolutely hilarious. After it, I was so caught up in the show that I went straight into 16, then 17. It was until after 17 that I realized that I hadn't jotted any notes after finishing the previous couple eps. Do catch up though. It's been great.
