I don't think they did pre-orders last year so much as they started taking online orders in the early AM (like 12:30 or 1:00AM) on the release date. That's my recollection anyway.

I normally hate Apple products, but this sounds pretty sweet. Good battery life, 4G, HD camera, and whatever the hell a retina display is, for a reasonable price.

I may end up getting my first tablet here.

You can just compare Vita benchmarks to Tegra 3--they are using the same GPU as Vita.

True. But real world performance will not be the same considering the 6x resolution difference.

I don't think any high end games like infinity blade would run at full res. Not until the iPad 4 at least. Assuming linear scaling, it could run those games at half res but I'm not sure if they would want to do pixel scaling like that.
