It's true. The PS3 and 360 have max 512 MB RAM and max display output on both consoles is 1080p. Has obviously nothing to do with the performance.

The 4X tegra 3 in graphics a sounds like a bit of hyperbole though.

It's probably more like 3x the GPU power of the Tegra 3. Tegra has oddly enough never been impressive in the GPU front.

Of course a lot of that extra power is going straight to driving that screen.

I take back all I said about 2012 being the year when other tablets become competitive. Apple just slammed the door, hard.

In what way? If Windows 8 does indeed release in October, most of those tablets should have better specs in all areas other than the screen and battery life departments (a.k.a. the really important departments). And HP, Lenovo, Dell, and Acer seem to be planning a huge Windows 8 push. The iPad will still outsell them handily, and probably combined (just like it currently does in the tablet market).

well it's true. the xbox and the ps3 are also 5-6 years old and a console does not need that much RAM.

As far as the iPad, is it worth getting the LTE models? I use mine 99% at home because I have an iPhone 4S so I don't "need" to take it with me, and in NYC where I work AT&T's speeds drop to 10% from 10 AM to 3 PM.
