Can't see pixels = retina. At 15 inches you can't see any pixels on this display, so it's retina.

Ah thanks. (I knew it was where you can't see the pixels, I just didn't know if that was the case at the resolution listed. I didn't want to assume, just making sure.) Sexy.

This iPad is about to become a must have for photographers.

Plus Eyefi card or camera kit of course

It really is. I would love to edit on the iPad. Especially since I don't really do any crazy editing with my pictures. Mostly exposure tweaking and basics like that.

They better announce some elegant way of getting the photos from a camera to the device.

hmm. i don't know what's considered elegant but there's options.

camera conector kit takes images off any camera (USB or SD slot) and dumps them in your photo roll.

or you take the pictures, pop them into iphoto on the mac or a folder on the PC and photo stream will push them to the ipad.

those seem to be the easiest ways. otherwise you have the old fashioned syncing with itunes and a folder of your choosing.

No doubt. If it only takes, say, 3 years or less for the iPad to catch up with the 720 or whatever, it's going to be pretty weird. :lol

I don't see how that'll happen. Even with the massive increase in mobile tech, it has to hit a wall eventually. A console plugged into the wall is always going to be able to use a lot more watts than a battery powered device like the ipad. And its driving 1/3 fewer pixels assuming 1080p.

Im a photographer and iPhoto is useless for me, how can i get pictures from my Canon 7D (CF card) to the iPad, if you tell me i need a computer, i might as well just use lightroom on the computer.

Must... not... get...

I mean, with my iMac next to my tv I can just mirror the screen via MDP if I feel so inclined to watch/browse on my bed and I have an iPhone 4S as well... So there's little reason for me to get the iPad, right?

Damn it Apple, why do you tempt me.

I would too but the problem is the walled garden and the fact that you won't be able to access photos on a home network.

I have a large blu-ray library. Will there be a way to stream/play them to iPad at all, or am I forced into buying them all over again?

This has been just over an hour and already through Apple TV, iPad specs and the usual demos. Normally runs 1.5-2 hours. One more thing...

So I take it that you can only pre-order these at Apple.com?

Never bought a tablet before, but I figure I'll finally jump in

This is where I am!

I have a MacBook Air, Windows 7 gaming PC, and iPhone 4S in the house, but the hype is getting to me on this iPad. I just don't think I'll use it, though. I hope their display technology finds its way into the next-gen MacBook Air.

Anyway, I'll definitely be picking up an Apple TV box.
