Hype spree.
He wouldn't be able to say anything even if it was up and running right now on it so that's a pointless assumption to make.
Since when is "pre next gen jumping to conclusions" bannable?I'd wager some of first few posts in this thread are ban worthy, some outrageous jumping to conclusion statements.
Technically it is, they've been put under NDA by "someone" regarding the UE4 demonstration.
It makes no sense for Nintendo to do that since their platform has been confirmed and is coming out in several months. Sony and Microsoft, however, don't want to officially confirm their new consoles yet.
He used the word "shock" and its past tense variant twice in that interview. I have reasonably deduced that this is a subtle confirmation that the Wii U console will be "shockingly" disappointing to Nintendo fans, and that the hardware is akin to number two--defecated matter. It is poo poo.

As for UE4, however, Epic has been talking about it. No specifics in terms of specs or systems; but they've been talking it up as making Samaritan look "feeble." That consoles need to be bleeding edge.
And it's supposed to be unveiled with new hardware? Etc.
I don't know whether what's been floated in this string of threads would make Samaritan look "feeble." Although maybe Nintendo will surprise.
I'm getting tired of buying Nintendo hardware to play Nintendo games and very little else. I don't plan on being a day one adopter like I was for the GameCube and Wii. I pledge to finally be patient enough to wait and get one when there's a couple of their games to play.
I'll probably break that pledge...
On the one hand he acts like he knows and has seen some pretty exciting things. He also seems aware of more than the general public knows in regards to Wii U and thinks Nintendo will shock most people come E3. So I think we can expect some exciting things from Nintendo this E3.
On the other hand he seems to imply that the system is still pretty close to PS3/360 range and that he likely isn't developing games for it unless they are just ports.
"I like the Wii U. I think E3 will be a big eye-opener for people,"

The fuck is this?
Everything related to the Wii U is still under NDA (game announcement, etc), so it could include UE4 support.
Let's spin it the other way for some variety.
OMG guise UE4 confirmed by E3 BOOK IT.
It's a possibility, although Cry Engine 3 (and UE3, obviously) support has already been confirmed.
How do you know what he would or wouldn't be able to talk about though? That's an assumption as well.
Wait and see, but personally I'm not expecting UE4 on the Wii U. If it happens, it will be a pleasant surprise. If it doesn't, well, I won't be disappointed.
Mark is currently pushing Sony and MS hard to go crazy on hardware which shows he probably thinks they are not there yet. I doubt Nintendo console will run it.Yeah, but considering that UE4 can't be confirmed for ANY platform at this moment, why would Mark suddenly spill about the Wii U?

Jesus, some people are so desperate for this console to be a failure/weak.
Actually, we've gotten leaks saying that new dev kits were more powerful than previous ones and pushed to run UE4.
But hey, it's Nintendo right?
Always the weakest hardware, right?
Well, ok. Just for that one generation.
But once is a trend, right?!
I don't really care so much if they run it or not, I'm basically guessing like anyone else. Wii U suddenly get from updated HD consoles this gen to something better than current top end PC's after somebody said that new dev kits are more powerful and Samaritan looks like crap compared to UE4.Actually, we've gotten leaks saying that new dev kits were more powerful than previous ones and pushed to run UE4.

Where is this implied?
GAF... You baffle me.
"If I had 10 development teams I'd make a game for every single platform and make that the special game for that platform," replied Rein. "But we don't have 10 development teams so it's just a matter of picking and choosing what we do and doing the best thing we can for the idea that we have."
That article implies that Epic has signed an NDA...???
Really, I would take that to imply that UE4 is being shown on unannounced hardware in private.
It's just a repeat of every news thread about Nintendo. Haters hating.

I don't think you can go from something that runs UE3 or even DX11 UE3 Samaritan to next generation engine like UE4 just like that.
