How am I wrong? Nintendos deliberate actions to be different resulted in everyone buying basically a 3 year lifecycle console.
Maybe the game will come out but the Wii U wont till later.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, wii was relevant all the way until the beginning of last year. 2011 was a really weird year because nintendo simply outright just stopped supporting the wii outside of zelda at the end of the year. I wish we could know the real reason behind that turn of events. Shift to 3DS focus? Shift to Wii U focus? Who knows. Wii did gangbusters for a little over 4 years though, not 3.
Nintendo re-skinned the gamecube which was retailing at 99 and sold poorly and sold it with a new controller for 249 for and now 149. The re-skinned gamecube (aka wii) sold very well and made Nintendo lots of money. The wii is over 5 years old now. It sales have tanked since Nintendo stopped supporting it with new software.
Where did you get a 3 year life cycle form?
I always kind of hate this argument, especially when the person uses it has already brought business in to the discussion.I dont care if the wii goes on selling another 15 years. Support which is what matters not how well the box is selling dried up long before now. Nintendo making money means jack shit to gamers too unless you happen to own stock and even then the stock is at Gamecube failure levels now. They made lots of money and then their decisions caused them to start losing lots of money too.
That said I dont find anything wrong with saying Nintendo is their own worst enemy. Their brilliance allowed the Wii to sell to a bunch of old ladies etc but in the end it did little for the people who will rush out to buy games every week if they were there to buy.
I know u mean the game in general, but man... Wouldn't it be fucking awesome to buy a wii u game before the console launch?Maybe the game will come out but the Wii U wont till later.

I bought X-Wing Rogue Squadron several days before the GC launch. "Ohhhhh, the mini disc looks and feels so cool...."
But my bet is still november 19th release.
Yeah, the Wii was doing fine in its 4th year. If I'm not mistaken, it was still the best selling home console of 2010 (sold more than 7 million vs. 360's 6.7 million). In addition, many gamers would probably agree that 2010 was the Wii's best software lineup for first and third-party games. We got a ton of great exclusives including Mario Galaxy 2, DKC Returns, Monster Hunter Tri, Red Steel 2, Sin & Punishment 2,No More Heroes 2, GoldenEye 007, Sonic Colors, Trauma Team and to a lesser extent, Metroid: Other M and Epic Mickey. It's probably even safe to say that Wii has the best holiday exclusive lineup of that year as well.
I'm sticking with my prediction: the Nintendo Juicy™ (*ducks punch*) will launch in North America on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Nintendo seems to love Sunday launches.
Why in the world would anyone try this without shoes on???![]()
Come on man, try harder than that.
Or at least with socks on. Either shoes. Or barefoot...Why in the world would anyone try this without shoes on???

Why are you acting like lack of support was exclusive to Wii? Gamecube did it the "normal" way and it got arguably less support than the Wii.
It's not about standing out as much as Developers not wanting to support Nintendo in the first place (not necessarily putting the blame on the 3rd parties because I honestly don't know what is going on.)
You may have a point there, but one must consider the time the Gamecube came out. It looked more like a toy compared to the PS2 or Xbox, especially by advertising it mainly as a purple system. It also chose to forego a DVD format with mini-DVD like discs, which severely limited size (1.5 GB vs 4.7GB iirc) which prevented some multiplats, and the third party sales weren't the best.
A lot of things happened that generation that were out of Nintendo's control too, so it was just unfortunate.
Also, as Reggie once said, what if they had a title like Re4 at the Gamecube launch?
I remember I purchased a Gamecube at launch, but that year I was more excited by what the PS2 was bringing to the table. I think Gran Turismo 3, GTA 3, Metal Gear Solid 2, Final Fantasy X, and others came out that year (Devil May Cry, Jak & Daxter)
August or September would be my guess...at least I hope so because I'm going to have the money in August and I always find it difficult not to spend money when I have it lol

For me, I feel the Wii died after 2009. Skyward Sword was great but I'm having a hard time thinking of anything else I've played on it between 2009 and then. The generation, for me has been about 3 years.

I probably did, but I will admit I have a pretty narrow band of games I like and the HD twins had more of the types of games I prefer. Unfortunatlely I need to watch the pennies now I'm a dad and my PS3 died twice so I haven't had a particularly massive set of games this generation.Dude, you missed out.
You do realize that SMG 2, Metroid Other M, S&P 2, Kirby's Epic Yarn, DKCR and Sonic Colors were all released in 2010, right? So no, the system didn't die in 2009. The Wii has had amazing output over most of its lifespan compared to both the N64 and GC.
I have no interest in DKC or Sonic.
DKCR was the best game of 2010 IMO. The only thing bothering me was a couple of waggle movements.
Same here.I quit playing halfway because of the waggle movements. It really ruined the game for me.
I should probably elaborate - I have no interest in it as a full price game. If I could pick it up for a bargain I might get it to "see what all the fuss is about" but seeing as I've never played a DKC game I have no frame of reference to know whether I would like it or not and I just won't spend what amounts to about US$80-$100 for an unproven game. What a shame.

DKCR was superior to New Super Mario Bros Wii in every possible way.
The level design alone was masterfully done. So much creativity and thought put into every level.
Looking at my Wii library, I owned a lot of games this generation- for me. A grand total of 21 retail games, plus a remarkably long list of Virtual Console and WiiWare games, means that I played between 7 and 9 games per year.. and I'm pretty damn picky about needing a game to be good enough to be worthy of my precious time. On the conservative end of the math, this would amount to little more than one game for each two months. Being an OCD completionist who also likes to replay games that I really, really enjoyed, this was perfect. So I can't complain about the Wii's library too much.
On a separate topic.. with the news every other day showing that developers are dropping like flies, does anyone else think that Nintendo might need to consider publicly making a sustainability argument when pitching their console's development environment to third parties?
In every way other than the controls. The waggle roll was functional, but certainly not better than a button alternative. The waggle blowing was pointless and broke the flow of the game completely.
The game would have been damn near perfect for me without the use of motion controls.
Any chance that my VC purchases will transfer?
I just looked at my Wii library (if you can call it that). I have 7 games left, and I sold about 3 during the generation IIRC. So I stand corrected, that's about 2 games a year I played on Wii
I have a few VC games but that's it. I hate that shop with a vengeance and unless I went there I never knew what was new.
