Second one is a series of recordings. Some might be fake, but others are really interesting, especially the groaning metal-like ones.

You forgot to mention the men with guns chasing down and shooting the followers who didn't drink the Flavor-Aid, and who were trying to escape.
 
The Cosmonaut stuff is authentically creepy. Can you imagine breaching through the stratosphere, up where you can see the black emptiness of space, listening to your own breath, and knowing you're literally in a flying deathtrap? Your systems failing one by one, stuck in a spin, with the realization that you'll never live to make it back down to Earth, to see your family again? That shit is legitimately scary. The cutting edge of technology and it wasn't enough. Badly engineered, unproven, rushed, and still no match for fundamental physics.

That Max Headroom one is kind of cool, because I can imagine this dystopian splinter timeline that it's from. Some dude hijacking some old rerun on an automated corporate broadcast station, to make a political statement about how fucked up and nihilistic everything is. Then he cuts the signal just before the transcops trace it back to him.

There were actually two broadcast intrusions that night. The first took place on channel 9 (WGN) but it didn't work. There wasn't any audio and they shut it off real quick. A lot of people don't even know about that one.

The broadcast with sound took place an hour or two later on channel 11. But if you listen to the video, he keeps referencing channel 9 (WGN) when he says, "the greatest world newspaper nerds" and says "I think I'm better than Chuck Swirsky", the sports caster for channel 9.

It seems to me the video could have been made specifically for channel 9 and they didn't really plan on hacking channel 11. However, since that one didn't work, they hacked channel 11 instead. But if that's the case, that channel 9 was the actual intended target, wouldn't they have told him to watch channel 9 and not 11?

I caved and started searching for the 911 call I was talking about, but couldn't find it. I did find the Ruth Price recording, and I'm not sure if it's the same thing(they have the same "plot", but it's been so long since I've heard the other), but if it is, it cuts off before the worst part on every video I've come across.
 
Someone else can find/post it (because I don't really want to listen to it again...), but the 911 call from the woman whose pet chimp mauled her friend was horribly disturbing. :(
 
there is this dope book on number stations from '07 (i think), the name evades me but its worth tracking down - the authors put it up for free as a pdf too. real bizarre shit, prob military/espionage related as others have pointed out.

The Trumpets of the Apocalypse one I am watching right now and it's not very convincing. Sounds like a bunch of echoes from vehicles, people playing music or construction in the distance.

found it - this is the majority of the book in pdf format that came with a cd set of number stations. the print version has slightly more (and is worded differently so it doesn't relate just to the cds), but only an extra chapter or so. regardless, both are super short/small but i found them real interesting.

That's also on the trumpet sounds. Weird though because as I clicked on this and listened to it for a minute, I just had a huge dizzy spell.
 
The harmless stuff like the number stations and max headroom are fucking nightmare fuel. I am actually terrified.

Everything else where real people are fighting for their lives or actually end up dying just make me feel fucking awful.

FUCK. this one gets to me because it's my worst fear. Someone coming in your house unwanted and overpowering you has always scared me and it really happened to this girl. Hope this dude rots in prison.

The music doesn't disturb me nearly as much as the portions of warped audio that make Jones sound truly demonic.
 
This thread made me realize how little I actually knew about Jonestown.

I had always assumed that the Peoples Temple was an extremist Christian cult, when in reality, it was a bizarre communist/socialist/atheist utopian group. Also, I never realized how heavily African-American it was, and how Jones used racial politics to manipulate his followers.

So you can also confirm that this is true? Supposedly, it was also in Germany, but I didn't hear it. I really wonder what that is, some guess that it is from HAARP (that basically researches the ionosphere, and I read that you can send sounds somehow over the ionosphere). But as I read it from Wikipedia, they only send Very Low Frequency radio waves, which can't be heard. Really fascinating.

Oh, and I love Number Stations. So creepy, but so interesting.

Yeah. I had no clue what it was until this thread and I've now checked out the wiki and the PBS documentary from 2006 on youtube. Horrifying stuff.

Yeah that's the most fascinating shit right there. Even in San Francisco this guy was acting like scum, yet he gets 1000 people to go with him to this glorified prison camp.

The aerial shots over Jonestown after the massacre are insane and disturbing. The first hand accounts from survivors is so fucked up.
