Yeah, I figure the XL is probably about a redesign to save costs as much as it is to get more momentum. Just black and white internal shells/buttons and simple top/bottom color pieces for however many variations they want, I'm kind of thinking/hoping they'll be easy to replace.

(Apparently there's full 3DS replacement housings on eBay for ~$30-40, I imagine the XL color would be cheaper)

It looks alot more nicer and solid with pure white, if you ask me...

Haven't you heard? Euro folks are filthy rich ;-p.

Excluding sales tax and including the cost of the (original) adapter we pay ~ $35/€28 more.

Still shitty but that's not exclusive to anything, unfortunately it's normal in terms of video games so I'm just talking colours. US always pays less RRP but with the UK market down the drain I have saved so much on software I think it more than evens out in the end.

Me too, I'm even putting off all 3DS gaming until I get this monster.

But seriously white would've been a good idea. It gives the handheld more of a "device" look than a "gaming toy" look, which would've been an advantage in this current handheld trend (Remember how the NES was designed to look more like a VCR than an Atari?) Heck, if marketed the right way I think the handheld could easily eat into the budget tablet market, or even appeal to current tablet owners.

Black could've been fine if it didn't have candy blue or red tops. But oh well.

I am sure they will, but you need to have both handhels at the same time. So no trading in your ambassador model for your XL
