America practically single handedly extinguished the Native American culture and way of life. And it wasn't until most of the Native American cultures on the continent were practically gone that Americans started being fascinated enough to start, like, visiting native american displays in museum and admire their "stoic quality."

I think this is similar to killing all bears and then admiring their stuffed bodies in my parlor, no?

You can blame microscopic pathogens for that.

When it comes crashin' down and it hurts inside
You've gotta take a stand- it don't help to hide
If you hurt my friends then you hurt my pride
I gotta be a man - I can't let it slide

I am a real American
Fight for the rights of every man
I am a real American
Fight for what's right - fight for your life!

You can blame microscopic pathogens for that.
They certainly didn't help. But there was definitely a moment during the War of 1812 when a untied Native American state was a real possibility. We put a stop to that real quick. Imagine how different the world would be if what is the western United States now was actually another separate country.

Happy 4th!

Don't let the haters ruin your BBQs..

Happy 4th of July! It's still the 3rd here but my neighbors have already started setting off illegal fireworks in their backyard. To be fair, they do that for pretty much all holidays, but I'll take the excuse to start the party early. Definitely looking forward to seeing the fireworks tomorrow night.

"And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night!" We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!"
