Pretty much. The sentimental bits fell totally flat for me, and the whole episode suffered for it.Binbougami-ga 1
Meh.
Sakura is clearly best girl, though. The Haruko knock-off was kind of annoying. Also her outfit is ugly.

On Sakamichi no Apollon: He's mentioned that they knowingly went all out on the budget for the performance scenes. However, he is aware that they will not be making this money back (just why did you have to bomb, oldtaminA 2.0?), which is already not looking great for the studio's future. He said you shouldn't expect such animated scenes from MAPPA in the future.
Someone apparently also asked why they didn't make use of 2 cours to adapt the manga - he said people had told him from the beginning that even making just 2 episodes of Sakamichi no Apollon would be crazy, so getting one cour was already big enough of a gamble as it stands. Nothing too surprising here.
Finally, he wants to work on 8 1-hour long Pluto OVAs, as it'd be a nice way to end his career - beginning with Astro Boy, ending with another Tezuka work. But I don't remember whether my friend told me if this was actually a project in the works (it might be, considering how he's given precise details regarding the running time) or purely delusional.

No. You smell.
You expect the god of misfortune to dress stylish? Also her outfit is ugly.
I think you must be watching some other show.
At the rate we're going, no.
I dunno if anyone's posted anything about it yet (too tired to go back and check right now), but I'm just back from Day 1 of Japan Expo in Paris. There was notably a panel with Maruyama Masao - which I unfortunately missed due to horrible waiting queues - but from which a friend's provided me with the most interesting bits.

He's also tackled the issue of Yume Miru Kikai - how the production was really looking to be a big hurdle (people apparently overestimate the amount of work that'd been achieved before Kon's passing away, I don't know much about it myself), and how he still plans on giving his best on it. But he reminded people that he's now 70, and thinks he can still dedicate time in the next three years to work on it, but probably not more. He seemed pretty sad about it.

Now I hope to make it on time for the Sunrise panel on Saturday. >_<
There's something about Sakura's mix of sentimentality and selfishness that I find compelling.I couldn't choose between Sakura and Momiji. They're both great.
You expect the god of misfortune to dress stylish?
You know, the weirdest thing about the romance in the show is thathow Ritsuko goes from rejecting Kaoru to falling in love with him is just strange. I just find it odd that the two side characters probably got the better deal when it comes to their romance... even their train moment was better.
Just keepin it real, dawg.Hobo, my bro.
Fashion is a matter of choice, not fortune! You expect the god of misfortune to dress stylish?
Thanks for the great post. Hey, even bums can dress stylishly. Remember that greasy chinese dude with the jacket and the cig?

Extra notes: The OP is not good, I will skip it from now on.
Personally I felt that the serious moments were handled well and I was genuinely moved - not that they were a huge part of the episode anyway. I can't speak for what the ratio will be in the future, but it seems a crazy comedy above anything else to me.
You expect the god of misfortune to dress stylish?

Other than on the surface, it really doesn't compare that much to Gintama. (*shakes fist at cosmic*).
I didn't like the way they it was interspersed with the comedy, its like wacky antics and then suddenly some heavy handed stuff.
That's stretching it!The misfortune of having poor fashion sense.
Excuses, excuses.Fool! Fortune determines everything.
I didn't know what to expect, but...
I'm not satisfied!
I don't know; I think the overalls have a certain charm to them.
Pretty classy, minus the zettai ryouiki.Hyouka is getting a new ED soon, and the official site has character designs for the new ED: http://www.kyotoanimation.co.jp/kotenbu/gallery/
No, he is completely right!I think you must be watching some other show.
Overalls will make their comeback. We just have to keep believing they will!Girls in overalls are so underrated.
A very inconsistent episode in terms of animation. Body movement was very fluid between multiple entities in single shots but there was something about Nagi's eyes that the inbetweeners were having a hard time with.

It's not weird at all!She doesn't start liking him until he gets attention from other girls.
Girls in overalls are so underrated.
That's not too odd.Ritsuko wasn't that interested in him but then he got super cool and popular so she ended up becoming interested in him.
I think you must be watching some other show.
Overalls, plaid shirts, and flat chests aren't inherently bad, but mix them together and you have a war crime on your hands.Girls in overalls are so underrated.
No, he is completely right!
Did cosmic ever say it was? I can't remember him making that claim.
Girls in overalls are so underrated.
I'm sure it's fine for you to feel that way but soon Eureka Seven will go the way of Kimagure Orange Road. Ao is just delaying the inevitable.
It's really the combination of plaid and overalls for me. There's something attractive about such an unladylike getup.
KyoAni has you covered.

Eh, those overalls are ugly.
Those overalls are fine and they are fitting of a classy woman like Ibara.Eh, those overalls are ugly.
Yeah, well, you're wrong too. Those pantlegs are in desperate need of unrolling.
And the backlash begins. cosmicblizzard hype is the next duckroll hype![]()
In a later post, I say that my problem isn't the concept but the execution. That's not too odd.Ritsuko wasn't that interested in him but then he got super cool and popular so she ended up becoming interested in him.
