Majora's Mask is a badass reward. I remember this thing a few years ago when I was in my couple month wii phase and I was only offered like a sticker set or DS case, crap like that.

Cards for me.

Of course, it's all pretty much crap.
Oh well.

EDIT: I actually like the cards and appreciate that it's not using disgusting Mario renders.
It just fees like a regular prize.

This pic gives a pretty good idea of what the cards are like:

As far as playing cards go, it ain't bad. Transparent plastic!

Though this is an all time low for platinum rewards

I still think that dubious honour goes to the Mario hat, but I'm alone in that I guess :P

I like the cards even more now.

Classic-style Mario art
Pretty geometric patterns
Transparent plastic

Ok, I'm satisfied. :)

I got the cards. The posters aren't very interesting to me, and I have all the games being offered. Plus the cards look pretty cool, though they could be even cooler for a being a Platinum reward.

I'm glad that anyone who only got Gold gets a choice.

Yeah, for Gold this year's an improvement.

Should I get Metroid II or Mario vs DK?
I haven't played either one.
I can only vouch for Mario vs. DK since I haven't played Metroid II, but Mvs.DK is a great game. It's a throwback to Mario & Wario on the SFC, but with a lot more complexity and challenge. There's user level-creation that's shareable online as well as extra level downloads from Nintendo, but I haven't gone online with the game in a long time to see if the servers are still up.

I went with the posters because I think the cards are really ugly. Still disappointed in this years rewards, haha.

But if the posters are as awesome as those limited Zelda posters from months ago then I'll be somewhat happy.

Got the cards, oddly enough I didn't get a choice.
My elite page looked like this:

When I clicked the pins, it changed to went to a page about the cards, so I got them. It's what I wanted anyways, but still, strange.

Went with the cards. Not a big fan of posters or calenders, and I could just get those VC games later anyway.

Also, hearing everyone talking about that Mario hat in the other thread has really made me regret picking the Punch-Out minigame that year. :( I could have put the hat on my Master Chief cat helmet. >.>

Though a disappointing year for Platinums, this is definitely a great one for Golds. I'd certainly take Majora's Mask or Super Mario Kart over a calendar.

I only made gold last year, so I got the calendar. Haven't even glanced at it since March, apparently - it was still on that month when I decided to go and look at it just now.

I want Metroid II since I havent downloaded it yet...but those cards might end up as collectors items...

Platinums should get the chance to pick one platinum prize and one gold.

Whaaaa, nuh uh. It may be as useless as all the other ones, but it's fun to take pictures with and on display it gives off a I-love-Nintendo-this-much quality that the others don't have. Though looking at that picture of the cards they actually do look kinda cool even if I'll never open them. Would've really loved that 8bit Mario pillow though

I got Mario vs. DK: Minis March Again. It's different from what I expected. It's entirely controlled with the stylus; I thought it was going to be more like the original Mario vs. DK. Well, it's cool: just finished the first "floor", and I enjoyed it.

About the awards: pretty weak, and the game selection could be better (why not give away some cool 3DS original titles and not VC or DSiWare?).

Just wondering, has any other territory received these playing cards before? Traditionally we get whatever Japan got the previous year, but I don't remember these existing before.

If they're actually making them uniquely for North America, that's fairly interesting. Value could go up significantly.

*Sigh* Lame rewards again. Guess I'll go for the cards. I know they don't have to do things like this but the money spent to end up with enough points to qualify for Elite and even Gold status just constantly shows how poor these rewards are. Would it kill them to for once offer us some of the rewards (even for coins outside of the end of the year stuff) they offer those in Japan.

Like i said in the other thread i redeemed the playing cards. I probably won't even make gold this year.

I only made it to Gold and none of the rewards look interesting. First person to quote with the game they want gets it.

Hmm I have a bunch of posters from CN already. Good thing the Zelda one is different, but that just adds another Zelda to my Skyward Sword and the other Zelda poster series...
I'm not sure about the cards either.

Those Zelda posters were of surprisingly high quality. I was expecting the standard glossy fare, but what we got was extremely nice!

Gold rewards are better than the platinum ones.

Playing cards?

Posters that an adult can't put in their home?

I'll go with Majora's Mask...

I am really digging the look of those cards. Specifically I like that there is different art styles on each card (based on that picture above, anyway, you can see different shots of mario).

Might have to go with that.
