I still don't get how you assume Joker finds out Bruce is Batman after realizing its not Dent?

That's quite a stretch. Joker only found out its not Dent but that whoever is Batman cares for Rachel too.

Thought it was Dent because he cared for Rachel, knew if he went after Rachel it was someone who cares for her, after Dent it might be well publicised childhood friend Bruce Wayne.

Can't wait to watch this at the IMAX marathon next week... hell, I even took Friday off from work.

I think I'll continue to avoid this thread, I'm soooooo scared to be spoiled, but I love the GAF discussion. I'm so torn.

I'm just bummed that I was exposed to the Birthday Boy before seeing this movie. Now I know the DKR will never have a villain of high quality.

So totalfilm's rating for this movie is out ...
5
out of 5 stars

Surprise surprise.

The whole matter is completely irrelevant. As someone else pointed out, the Joker didn't act upon whether or not Batman was Bruce. In addition, his plan wasn't for him to discover who Batman was, but for the city to tear itself apart trying to find out who he was.

If he didn't already know though, then it casts an even bigger Lois Lane syndrome over the entire city.

I know it's irrelevant. I'm not saying its an important plot point, that him knowing who Batman is matters. I'm just saying I thought he knew.

No biggie.

So, I'm planning on catching this movie sometime next sunday at the IMAX in palm desert. Should I book in advance or will I get decent seats regardless?

That's a good point. I remember watching the Dark Knight and was almost positive Gordon knew who Batman was when he said he was going after Rachel, but then when Gordon meets Bruce again when he saves Mr. Reese, he's completely oblivious. Maybe Gordon doesn't recognize Rachel's famous relationship with Bruce because he just doesn't watch a whole lot of E News.
lol see what I did there

Can't hurt if you have group plans

Supposedly I get a free Hans Zimmer track from purchasing tickets from movietickets.com. Tracked is titled "All Out War".

WHERE IS IT!?

Totally off topic: Do you reckon Christopher Nolan should direct a Spawn movie? It is one of DC franchises that shines the light on depravity quite well. Plus like Riddick, Spawn more of an anti-hero character. One thing is for certain, unlike Dark Knight it sure won't be PG. Also, the 1997 rendition was fancy but lacking.

On topic: Anyone watching the marathon version (starts and 6:40 and ends around 3am). Shame it won't be in an IMAX theatre though.

I'm hoping for more dream/magic/sleep related movies.

All the films are PG-13.

I am curious to know who will be enough brave to post a bad review about TDKR.

Roger Ebert

so when Batman dies in the second act at the hands of Gordon-Levitt, embuing Oracle with vivacity and hunger, it sends The Dark Knight Rises into a spiral that threatens to derail the whole film. At least until the Alfred and Catwoman sex scene

Only good tickets I could get was for Monday night. I was too late on securing Sat/Sun tickets and I'm going with a few others so I had to make sure they got tickets for the same showing.

I think I can pretty confidently that Nolan will never ever direct Spawn. Maybe never another comic based movie. I think he really enjoyed Batman and found all he was looking for in terms of character and themes. Doing it again with another character would be repetitive.

He left his mark as the man who resurrected and brought Batman to new heights. From here on I think he will make the movies he never go to (due to lack of a big name) or whatever he finds interest in next.
