I think Pep deserves far more credit than most non-Barca fans give him. Sure, you have players like Messi, Iniesta and Xavi. But he promoted so many players who were unknown back then as you said; he made the best of Messi IMO, and he pushed the tiki taka style to a new level. He's irreplaceable. Just because he has not tried his luck at other clubs like Mourinho did doesn't make him any smaller IMO.

I think they'll give him more time; I really liked the guy. But in retrospect, I'm glad he did not remain at CHELSEA. I wish him the best at Tottenham - but even if he were to have won the title with them, I still think Abramovich did the right thing. Under him, after the first few weeks, and barring 3 games or so at most, he turned Chelsea into a dull team that leaks more goals than scores, and attacked so toothlessly. Sure, maybe he had an issue with the senior players, but he had a big chance to prove his system in Naples, and he failed so, so hard. At least now with Tottenham he will have a chance to start again with new faces, so hopefully he can prove that he's got a few tricks up his sleeves.
So good. It's easy to forget how competent his passing is too.

It appears Tello transfer talk has resurfaced. Allegedly, contract negotiations are stalling, with Atlético and Liverpool interested.
Could all be bullshit, but it was only a week ago that we were told Borini was an impossible signing, after Roma bought him fully. Me thinks there's something in this Rodgers would like a player like Tello. Quick-as-lightning, wide forward who plays in the Barça style, and thus would slot well into Rodgers' desired playing style of high pressing and fluid attacking.
Potential attacking options: Suarez, Tello, Borini, plus Carroll and Bellamy (if they don't leave). Would be a really nasty attack. Quick and skillful, unlike the battering-ram style attack of last season.
In other news, Times saying that Fulham want Carroll, but also want to keep Dempsey. Despite him saying he wants to stay at Liverpool and fight for his place, a move for Carroll can't be ruled out, but Fulham want him on loan, and Andy is unlikely to agree to that. He shouldn't. I still don't want him to be sold, if he can improve his skill and play with the intensity he did toward the end of the season, there is no reason to sell him.

I personally think pep guardiola is overrated. The all conquering 2008-09 barcelona were products of rijkaard era. He inherited a good team and made them better. Lot different from when rijkaard came in and basically overhauled the barca team and destroyed the galacticios of zidane

Alan Pardew has said that only an Andy Carroll level of inflation will be acceptable when it comes to club bids being accepted for our best players. 20m at least for Tiote and Cabaye IMO if we're going with that. Even more if it's a January transfer window probably.
Vurnon Anita also wants to join Newcastle. Ajax are supposedly willing to sell for 8m so we'll need to up our bid from 5m and we'll have him too. He can play LB and DM so he will be a valuable squad player. After him, Debuchy and Douglas, we'll need a striker and then we're done.

He's well thick, too - hopefully he's matured a bit since his time at West Ham, as he had a right attitude, thought he was bigger than the club. Also, in the midst of our relegation battle in 2007 he claimed he had to visit his grandmother on the Isle of Wight for personal reasons, but instead pissed off to America to celebrate his birthday, and then was found out when he posted the pictures to facebook and was fined by the club as a result.

Sounds good, I just hope we can get them and we'll be set. My wish going into the window was to keep hold of most of our players and it looks like we'll do just that
Ideally, you sign Debuchy and then Cabaye leaves, and Debuchy is plunged into depression.
