Sweet Jesus that was great
Some of the sky shots were annoying because they clearly showed new york. You could see one world trade center, Chrysler building, the empire state, met life, etc. They really couldn't shop them out?
Throwing "Robin" in there was just an easter egg. If Blake takes over, he's wearing the cowl.
"If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal and if they can't stop you, you become something else entirely a legend, Mr. Wayne."

I wouldn't be surprised if the full uncut version of this is over three hours. I want a Director's Cut for BD with all scenes added in.
My prediction for the film: most are on the major high of seeing it and totally in love. But over the next few months, the euphoria will subside and all the flaws will start to show, and it will just go to being a good movie. Not a great movie.
Yeah but I am hoping he rocks a different suit. Will be pretty badass him learning the ways by himself unlike Bruce. Really liked when he shot those two dudes and realized it wasn't right to do that. Sort of thinking about it already.

Go back and read the thread--I'm ahead of the curve!
All joking aside, I think Ledger's performance was so memorable and so awesome that, the nitpicking was kept to a minimum for me on TDK.
This movie felt very disjointed at times and didn't have the style of the first two entries. It felt like a lot of the main cast was just going through the motions in many spots--Freeman and Oldman come to mind the most.
The new blood like JGL and Hardy were good but not great.
And there were a LOT more plotholes in TDKR.
Yes he does break him physically and mentally.
In the end, he decides to stay as Batman for as long as he can. It's implied he's going to search for a partner so he doesn't have to protect Gotham alone for the rest of his life. It ends with everyone in the city cheering when the Bat signal is turned on (quite the change of tone for a Batman film) and he is on top of a building for a few seconds then swoops down. Credits.
Ranking time:
TDK>BB>DKR.
I need to watch all three again to really be sure.
You lying piece of shitty pie.
That was the moment I knew he was Robin.
Permaban me please if none of this takes place in the film.
Talia provided all the tumblers for Bane. She used Wayne so she could work for him and steal all of his equiptment. You find this out before she has Lucius killed.
Overall, I loved the movie until the twist that Bane was basically Talia's lapdog. It didn't ruin it for me, but it really killed me enjoyment.
It made all of the stuff Bane had done previously seem retroactively lame.
And Bale actually kept the infamous Batman voice under control until the scene where he demanded Bane tell him where the button is. It's like he saved all the harm for that scene alone. People were cracking up it was so ridiculous.
My impressions:
Not as good as the The Dark Knight - lots of pacing issues, super cheesy moments, and wait, what? leaps of logic, but still pretty enjoyable.
My thoughts exactly. Regarding the bolded, while BB and TDK both had these, they were almost always retrospective, things you realize don't make sense when you are thinking about the movie later. In the moment, however, you don't notice them, or they are overshadowed by how cool the thing that's happening is.
TDKR's leaps, however, jump right up and smack you in the face. There were several spots that had me going, "Wait, what?," some of them right after another (and one that I found borderline offensive-you can fix a broken spine by just standing up? Hahaha, FUCK YOU movie) and it sucked me right out of the movie.
Regarding Bane: I really, really liked him, but he just can't follow Ledger's Joker. He was a good villain who really give the impression of being a match for Batman, but he really doesn't have anywhere near the presence of the Joker. While he is threatening and he does have some moments, including one really good one when the thugs capture Gordon, there is nothing as good or as memorable about him as...well, pretty much any of the Joker's scenes, and nothing as pants-shittingly terrifying as "Look at me. LOOK. AT. ME."
I enjoyed it a lot. A bit long, and had a few too many characters that distracted from Bruce.
This is most likely what will happen. Falling in place as the worst of the bunch but a great way to go out. Sort of like Back to The Future.
His name will always be John Robin Blake in the fanfiction I write.
I predict that most people will say they like it, but that the Dark Knight is better. Batman Begins will continue to be the red-headed step child of the series, being considerably less popular than the others. I predict that overall people will think DKR is great, but as time goes on the vocal minority that don't like it will continue to denounce it after those who loved it had already moved on, creating the impression among many the movie is disliked.
Anyway, the ending was amazing. I can't think of a better way to end the series.
-Judge Scarecrow - Who the HELL thought this was a good idea?

Scarecrow was definitely replacing the Joker in this scene.
Small character nit pick, but I wish Crane wore his Scarecrow mask or at least used his fear gas in some of the sentencing. I also kept thinking how cool it would've been if it was Harvey up there as the judge.
Bruce quit being Batman for 8 years and let his company slide into decline because a supervillain killed his girlfriend = Dumb
Alfred leaves Bruce when he needs his support the most = Dumb
Bane's voice and the whole misdirection of him possibly being the son of Ra's al Ghul (which isn't pronounced "Raz" no matter how much Nolan want's to insist it is) = Dumb
A device/program which erases your digital footprint from every computer in the world = Dumb
Sending all the police in the city into the sewers all at one time = Dumb
The fact that Batman is so easily tricked and does the dumbest thing possible in nearly every situation = Dumb
Bat auto pilot foreshadowing and use as plot device to build false expectation that Batman was going to die when he was obviously not = Dumb
Creating a character called John Blake as an amalgamation of Jason, Dick and Tim and then still having to drill home to the audience that his middle name is Robin = unbelievably fucking Dumb
Bruce creating a fusion energy device and then abandoning it when he "finds out" that it could be weaponized = Dumb (but working on the basis that Bruce in the Nolan films is a complete moron maybe expected)
An unguarded prison designed like a well, but that nobody (except Talia and Bruce) has ever escaped from, even though the prisoners are shown to have multiple lengths of rope at their disposal = Dumb
I could go on like this for about 7 pages but you get the idea. The movie is dumb, it trys to come off as smart and realistic but it isn't.
Fuck, people hated Judge Scarecrow? Nonsense.

I cant think of a better ending either. I am satisfied with it. It just needed to be tightened up quite a bit.
Yeah I thought that too, if ledger didn't die then that would have been Joker in that spot.
I wish you never said that... because now I'm left wishing for something that will never happen.OMG I just thought of the biggest missed opportunity in this film.
After Bane and company raid Batman's underground weapon's store and take fucking everything - leaving him with nothing, Bruce should have been forced to go back to the only thing he had left - his original Begins bat suit.
FUUUUUUUUUUUU I would have lost my mind if that happened. Now THAT would have brought everything full circle.
Fuck, people hated Judge Scarecrow? Nonsense.
Lol, i saw that! It was under construction, it looked like.
