This case is $4.99 at Five Below (U.S. people). Three colors to choose from including blue, burgundy and red. I already got a blue one for my blue DSi XL a couple months ago, going to head over for another soon for my upcoming 3DS XL.
Looks like Toys R Us has the brown one for $4.98 as well...

I've got red. Love it. Part of what drew me to it is that it's the 'default' 3DS colour, plus Nintendo red, etc. Blue is the black sheep.
I think they mean the purse open, with the XL inside of it.

So yeah, that's a purse. Pass. I'll be getting one that can protect the device, and also store my USB charging cable and a bunch of DS/3DS games.

Normally I go right out to get new Nintendo hardware on launch day, but I think I'll hold off a little bit on this, no matter how huge and sexy it is. This is, of course, predicated on the hope that a special edition color one comes out for Christmas, hopefully either white or a nice Zelda themed one. Damn vacation sucking all my moneys away = (
I decided to keep my 3DSXL, the yellow tint seems to be there in almost all of the units in varying degrees (I checked out about 10 of em) and I even hear it'll disappear if you play the system long enough because of the glue setting in or something like that, ah well. We'll see I guess
edit, damn now I want that blue purse as well... Is it US exclusive or also in Europe?

Don't have a long impression but I can tell that that d-pad and trigger button situation is now a lot better, easier to reach the triggers and same situation with the d-pad basically. It's also a bit bigger so it's easier to play 2D games (although I have to be honest, in a lot of games like WarioLand4 I preferred playing with the slide pad, it's damn good!). It's an improvement all around control wise, but if you really want this thing it should be for the screens IMO, it's not that much of an upgrade to justify dropping 200 bucks when you already have the 3DS, but I imagine that's the main reason for most people anyway

EIther way im not a big fan of either color , but i think a skin or whatnot would look best over a red case...i would prefer all black if told.

Agreed. I am more hyped for this XL, than I was for the Vita launch in February. I was really, really hyped for Vita too! but this XL launch beats it. Maybe because I have a 3DS and am pretty excited about the platform, this enlarges and refines the 3D experience - making it a must have?
Dunno. I didn't think I'd be anticipating the 3DS XL with as much want, as I have been - again, seeing as I already have a 3DS
Get the XL.
I have the purple. The screen still gets the marks. The color is pretty, but you'll be constantly cleaning it, still a smudge magnet. The XL looks to make the build quality of the OG look terrible, while also adding needed screen real estate and hand comfort.
Besides, I dunno if I'd trust a handheld offif Craigslist....

You're awesome. I'm so glad I scrolled down a little before ordering from amazon - I was parked right in front of a five below while reading this. Sure enough, they have 'em. Picked up a couple full-size stylii while I was there.

Nope. The system comes with an AC adapter but no cradle. The cradle isn't even out in Europe yet and it hasn't shown up on any US websites so who knows if it will be available on the 19th. I think it's out in Japan though.

The cradle hits Europe on the 24th I believe. So hopefully it won't be too long until we get it.

I hope so. Also, I hope it's sold alone without an AC adapter because I don't need another one.
It's worth noting that the cradle comes with another charger in Europe, and we'll pay an RRP of £19.99 ($31) for the pleasure. :/
Stupid as i am, my amazon preorder for the cradle stiill stands. I just love charging cradles for moble devices.
I've imported one from Japan. Works out cheaper than the UK cradle. The inclusion of a charger here is honestly off-putting to me!
The charger doesn't care about the plug. It's just some plastic and wires.
