I haven't used W8 yet, but there's just something absurd about everything presented.
Right clicking on Apps brings the extra menu, which is all the way at the bottom -- so you have to mouse all the way down; why not a simple context menu? Even for touch screens, contexts menus work fine.
Then on the desktop side, the task bar still has the W7 look, but the start menu button is gone, and then there are charms on the right, which have the W8 metro-style. It seems like they didn't bother to make a better Aero-Metro WDE, so it's inconsistent.
I get that they reduced having to click the start orb, but still, some visual representation like a hover would have been fine.
Is this the first "App" OS vs Desktop OS trapped inside one OS?
