Samsung did this to themselves. What they did with the original Galaxy and Touchwiz was disgraceful and shouldn't be allowed in the United States. Companies get away with that stuff in the black market in Asia.

I am not an Apple fan or Apple user, but I've heard countless people mistake the Galaxy phones for iPhones. This case was a slam dunk for Apple. As a matter of fact I own 2 of the original Galaxy phones and it's laughable how much they went out of their way to make the things look like iOS and iPhone 3G.

Yeah, but what Apple fans don't realize is that when Apple has wiped out their competition in the courtroom instead of actually competing in the marketplace, they can start charging even more ridiculous prices for their devices, since the consumer won't have a choice if they want a smartphone.

(This is of course a worst-case scenario, but it's undoubtedly what Apple wants.)

No unless your a fucking dolt you still want healthy competition. It ensures your brand of choice doesn't just rest on its laurels.

I like apple, have several products from them(typing on an ipad right now) i understand they are just playing the game the system set up, but this is a fucking travesty. The American patent system needs to torn down and rebuilt. Unfortunately the powers to be are so locked in to needing these large corporations money to ever win campaigns that it will probably be decades until something is done if ever.
