No, but we had similar from an Apple fanboy when the verdict was announced, and that was apparently "a bit of fun".Is this really necessary?

Why do you care what kind of phone a complete stranger is using? That is honestly one of the saddest things I have read in a long time.
(don't send me a pm)

Anyways, fuck apple and apple users. Just another day...
People say that with every android update. Customers stuck using their slow/non updated android phone for two years may leave with a shitty impression when it's time to upgrade.
It means that you're a hipster and kind of dumb. Wait until some random galaxy owner blows your mind with their extra large screen.
This thread lol.
Small mistakes won't change the general consensus that Samsung ripped off Apple's design.
Yeah, I think it's like 10-20% of the time, if Samsung is lucky they can probably get some of their phones taken off and save some money, best case scenario is I think 500mil.
But the real damage is done, software and design patents have been validated that I really don't want to be made valid.
If Apple just -sits- on this and doesn't use it to sue anyone else, damage will still be done - lot of people are going to be shitting bricks over their software now, and patent trolls (real ones) are probably going to be reinvigorated by this.
Patent trolls didn't need to be invigorated. They'll keep churning through the system with method patents out in East Texas. It'll be interesting to see if Google ultimately removes these patented features (301 and 381) from Android or if the handset makers do it themselves. Finding infringing across the board gives Apple a lot of leverage and since the patent isn't standards essential they have no requirement to license it.
If Shambles fucks me is that illegitimate or legitimate rape? Or was I asking for it because of the way I dressed up my iPhone?
Question, is the 1 billion award higher or lower than what Apple asked?
Apple was asking for 20-30 per device for how many devices?
Lower. Pretty sure they wanted at least $2.5 billion or somewhere thereabouts.
Bounceback is gone already, as far as I know.

Yep, that's nowhere to be seen in stock Android.
So if Apple's a patent troll because they fought for their intellectual property does Google (né Motorola Mobility) also receive the same scorn of Android fanboys?
I mean, are you on your way to protest Mountain View?

Damn, Sodium levels off the goddamn charts in here.
Samsung said:Today's verdict should not be viewed as a win for Apple, but as a loss for the American consumer. It will lead to fewer choices, less innovation, and potentially higher prices. It is unfortunate that patent law can be manipulated to give one company a monopoly over rectangles with rounded corners, or technology that is being improved every day by Samsung and other companies. Consumers have the right to choices, and they know what they are buying when they purchase Samsung products. This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple's claims. Samsung will continue to innovate and offer choices for the consumer.
Apple started all of this....
That a judge has ordered 1 billion dollars in "damages" be paid with no hint of parody to proceedings is definitely "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" material.
Hoping I see a fucking firestorm destroy this ludicrous patent world before I see the total downfall of human society in my lifetime.

Dunno who this is directed at - but I don't think Apple is a patent troll - I think Apple is a company who is taking far too many liberties with the patent system, to a point where it will be a detriment - specifically for software developers.
Google so far hasn't really done much to flex their new patent portfolio, if the Notification patent goes through and they go after Apple - apart from a part of me hoping that Apple gets knocked on their ass a bit for all their patent shennanigans, I would be pretty worried about the crumbling state of the mobile software industry.

When did Google last use their patents in the aggressive, anti-competitive "we're going to fucking WAR to kill our competitors" way Apple constantly does? That's right. Google bought Motorola for their patents in order to be able to defend themselves, Android and their Android partners against the like of Apple.
Actually a jury awarded it but let's not let facts get in the way of some Grade A Outrage™.
Invent =/= Popularize.Apple having patents of stuff they didn't invent should be a crime and the patent organization should accused too...
Guys you think software patents are bad, you should see the biotech industry. A couple years ago scientists were trying to patent parts of the human genome.
