Oh god, these are all beautiful, especially the dinosaur and Wild West one.

PLEASE GOD let someone avatarize that picture of Matt's face, preferably pointing, while on that Triceratops.

I think the dinosaur one is by far the weakest.... ::shrugs::

Again, WHY DO THE DINOSAURS NOT HAVE FEATHERS? It would've been awesome for the Doctor to encounter them as well as keep the show up with latest scientific trends.

Doctor: Hmm, dinosaurs seem a lot more...feathery than I remember.

The poster for Dinosaurs on a Spaceship just drives home further what I thought since I first heard the premise: its looking like an episode written by mashing two popular things together so a certain segment of fans will go "zomg two popular things together!"

It's on the name itself!

Dinosaurs! On a spaceship!

When was the last time he came across them in his travels?

^Man, that story dragged on and on...probably one of my least favorites. But such was the case with a lot of Pertwee stories longer than 4 episodes (unfortunately 6-7 was kind of the norm).

Unless we count the pterodactyl in The Wedding of River Song, it's the Third Doctor's Invasion of the Dinosaurs.

A surprisingly clever and subversive one, absolutely wrecked by the execution.

I'm not counting that or the one that used to hang out in Torchwood's Cardiff HQ either. Looks like a dude in a T-Rex suit from 40 years ago is it... It's about time.
Edit: Welcome... to Jurassic Ship

Blame America. Seriously, they do it with all the television series over there, including How I Met Your Mother. It's to give the illusion your show runs all year long, with re-runs in between. But in the end, it's just so, so infuriating. What's even more pathetic is that the series is starting so late, so we've had to wait months anyway. When Series 7 finishes, it will have been two years since Series 6 started.

If they're copying the US, then they're doing it wrong, because when we do it it's with seasons of like 22 episodes instead of 10.

It's not copying the U.S., more like adapting to their schedule, since BBC America help with the funding or something (Hence the America episodes) as well as its increased popularity there in recent years.

I'm really skeptical about Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, if only because the concept reminds me of that godawful Red Dwarf episode. Hoping to be convinced otherwise.

On the flip side, A Town Called Mercy reminds me of that awesome Red Dwarf episode.

A Town Called Mercy has Ben Browder. So I am excited for that one as well.

One thing I will reveal from the new episode since I've seen it a few places is that (not a story spoiler)
the opening title sequence is ever-so-slightly unique to the episode.

10 or 22 episodes, funding from BBC America aside, it's frustrating. And a poor illusion trick.

No. But the official description implied that that might be coming. Doesn't mean I like it. As long as it is handled well I will be ok.

And loved part 4 of Pond Life. Rory's lunchbox was awesome.

Ah.

Just checked doctorwhospoilers.com and it's good to see that they still don't have the BIG spoilers listed for this Saturday's episode. They're either keeping it a secret or have not heard the news.

I couldn't tell if they were humouring him because it was bad coffee/tea, or just to get him out of the room.

This will bother me the whole day now. But...can you really humour an Ood?

Also:

Matt Smith on the 50th anniversary:

"[2013 is] a very exciting year for Doctor Who. I feel very pleased and privileged to be a part of that year because it's the biggest year in the show's history. It's his birthday, so it's my birthday. [The special] won't just be a televised event, I think it will be a live event. The way it's transmitted on TV will hopefully be an inventive thing–something different."

So, Doctor Who sitcom.
pls lol
