Fighting Games Weekly | September 10-16

I'm pretty hype for aftershock. I really hope ytwojay and wentinel come through. I feel like they're being slept on. Same with team SoCal for kof. They're all uci regulars so I want to see them do well.

Does anybody still play SC5 online?

It's a wasteland most of the time when I go on at night.

When I first saw SC5's online set-up with all the rooms and regions, I thought it was cool, but still had doubts that the player base was big enough for that kind of separating.

As of now, I think it was a bad idea on some levels. The amount of people playing online is not big enough to sustain everybody being in different parts of the online structure.

I wish now they could consolidate it (like when an MMO contracts it's servers when there is not enough people to fill out everything).

Get rid of those city/country rooms. So the pool is bigger for matchmaking. Plus I hate the region select options in player matches. There is no "All".

IDK, just thinking out loud.

This was a problem several months ago from my experience (PSN), not suprised to hear it has gotten worse. I played a lot in the New York lobby, but the dudes were from the UK.

Hidden missiles is worth complaining about because there are older capcom games where projectiles that stay on screen get completely negated because the character got hit.

Even in MVC3 that happens with other characters like Sentinel Drones or Dormammu with his Flame Carpet.

At the bare minimum if UMVC3 is ever patched they HAVE to remove that property of missiles. If Doom gets hit then missiles disappear but they should still remain active if the point character is hit only. This way you can hit Doom late with a projectile and not have to worry about missiles raining down on you messing with your neutral while the point character gets to set up his.

As much as I hate Hidden Missiles, TACs take precedent in Marvel. If I had the wish of changing just one thing in Marvel then without a doubt it would be TACs.

That VJ bomb glitch looks pretty bad too, i think that and TACs need a patch but its probably too late by now.

Marvel has always been a little more lenient than other Capcom fighters in that regard. In a lot of older games characters can't even throw another projectile at all if a previous projectile is still on screen.

...Taskmaster?
Yeah he thinks Taskmaster is scrubbier than Wesker AND Vergil.

Basically he was going off about how Shield Skills is derp in that it extends nearly full screen, beats attempts at rushdown, converts into a full combos, beats projectiles and can be made safe with Sharp Sting.

him thinking that makes me not take anything he says about this game seriously.

Taskmaster is more basic, but his tradeoff is that while his normals are insane and Shield Skills has massive range, Taskmaster has no reliable way to open a character up. He's all about the defense.

Shield Skills into Sharp Stick isn't safe. Easy pushblock into Chaotic Flame for me. I don't know why people do Shield Skills into Shark Stick instead of Shield Skills into Aim Master L (Hold) when Taskmaster is the only character left.

Champ is complaining that most of the norcal team already left for socal instead of going to FFF for a final night of training, so he'll have to win Aftershock by himself.

Let's not forget that taskmasters real BnB's are probably 4x harder to do than anything wesker does

Hahaha what!?

It must be some kind of joke we missed out on.

Throwing the team under the bus already? Damn Kadey might snap that losing streak.

Maybe, but he is still by far the best level 3 X factor anchor.

I disagree. What you want out of a character in Xf3 is to be able to open the opponent up through mix ups and get great damage from air throws. Task is mediocre on both those fronts

EDIT: Maybe you were mocking Sanford?

You guys don't have to tell me this, I was just conveying his word. I already know all this.

That Task LVL3 XF has to be a joke.

Champ: "Whatever Sanford Kelly is saying is irrelevant, because he's irrelevant in this game."

Just said he could beat EC with PLASMA BEAM!

.... Chris G on blast (well not really) cause he said all of EC is ass except for Chris, but he's still better.

To add more shit to the fire Champ just said FGTV vs entire EC!
