If you haven't played the game, at least give it a try by renting it. I understand the reluctance and doubt since I did have several issues with demo which I laid out in the demo thread. Even got into argument with RE6's PR mouthpiece himself ErikB. But this is what I feel about this game:
Control: Of all the new directions RE games (RE4, RE5), this is the best control they have so far which match the increasing agility, speed, and numbers of enemies the new RE games throw you in. The control is very fluid and allows for better crowd control than what they gave us in RE4 or RE5.
Camera: Camera is a bit too close to the character at times and that can give a bit motion sickness at first. I would recommend dialing down camera speed to 0 and aiming speed to 3 if you get motion sickness like I did. I feel, however, that Capcom needs to pull back the camera a bit more in future games or in this one via patch if possible.
Enemies: RE6 has the most varied enemies and bosses in comparison to other new RE. As a result the gameplay feels a lot more exciting since you don't bump into the same enemy every time.
Cover mechanic: It's a failure. The cover mechanic is just not intuitive enough to be functional and useful. Capcom needs to go back to drawing table for this.
Story: This is probably the best story to encapsulate Biohazard outbreak in major city. You really feel the scope of the outbreak and how overwhelming it can be. I also think the characters have better dialogue and interaction with each other in comparison to the last few new RE.
Atmosphere: Apart from few scenarios, unfortunately this will not terrify most people. But I really roll my eyes at anyone who actually says RE post CV succeeds in atmosphere. But if we're going towards this direction then I prefer it to be fun and varied in terms of scenarios and locations, which both RE4 and RE5 didn't managed to do with their limited location.
QTEs: Quite bad actually. Not even Heavy Rain has QTEs this frustrating. Most of which involves shaking your control stick furiously or tapping in alternating mode for extended period. It's like Capcom don't understand that for people to want to do QTEs, they need to be fun instead of infuriating. Thankfully there aren't actually many sections that rely completely on QTEs. Most QTEs are inserted in between normal movement gameplay like when zombie jumping out at you.
Scenarios: This game has the MOST varied scenarios of all the new RE games. Thanks to the various locales, locations, and enemies, there are numerous scenarios offered in the game which includes but not limited to: survival, action, stealth, co-op, vehicles, and boss fights.
