There are teams that are lovable (Packers and Steelers, obviously) teams that are hateable (Patriots, Cowboys, etc) and then a huge swath of inconsequential teams like the Falcons, Texans, Bears and Eagles that no one ever really care about. At the other end are pitiable teams that you just feel sorry for and are glad every morning that they haven't eaten the inevitable bullet yet (Browns, Bengals, Rams) and teams that are generally poor and hopeless but you want to root for (Titans, Panthers, etc).
For me the Seahawks fall into this weird middle ground. They tried so hard for so long to be Packers-west that I kind of appreciate them for getting a guy like Pete and doing their own thing. Of course, it took a Wisconsin quarterback and Wisconsin offensive coordinator to get them there but still. I am glad they're seeing some success and am glad they figured out that just stealing the head coach and backup QB from Green Bay isn't going to get it done.

Which Houston fan wants to feed me at their tailgate this week? It's the least you can do, after I fly there only to watch the worst 5-1 team in the history of football (I'm talking the Ravens) now missing some of it's best defensive players and Ray Lewis. Yet Flacco still is healthy.

Houston isn't a very touristy town. If you are staying by the stadium, the train on Main takes you up to the Museum/Zoo distrcit and then to downtown Houston.
NASA/Galveston beach is pretty far away.
If you want strippers and booze, it's a little out of the way but not that far.
The train also takes you to the Medical Distrcit if you need to go after the game,,,,

I joked yesterday with Welli that the Giants would now lose to the Skins after the high of this game. It wouldn't shock me but it's October and Coughlin/Eli are usually money this month. Couple that with being 0-2 in the division and two big division match-ups coming up next the team will have a sense of urgenc. So DK, here's the deal, your team is garbage. Your defense is old and busted. Your offensive line is still putrid. You have to count on Rashard Mendenhall as your running back who is about as reliable as a five year old with ADD. And your QB is an accused rapist.

Most of us were also happy that we beat the nazi's in WWII and that Bin Laden is dead. I know that most Pat fans are fans of WWII Germany so I can't relate to how you feel.
Look I know seeing your team be garbage is hard for you and most other Patriot fans because most of you never watched football until after the 2001 season. But trust me, being garbage is a strong part of the Pats history. Before they were winning a few rings (by cheating and a clutch FG kicker) they were pretty much the laughing stock of the league.
