They're trying extremely hard to make the race seem close to get them ratings.

They had no problem declaring Romney the winner the last time around (granted this debate was a bit closer than the last) so why can't they declare Obama the winner? I think they are trying too hard to come off as fair but its doing more harm than good in my opinion.

I'd rather have a "Please proceed, governor" gif.

the american political circuit is like a terribly balanced strategy game full of bugs in early alpha. nothing has the effect it should have.

good thing romney accidently hit alt-f4 on the rose garden thing or it who knows how this shit would've been called.

Obama handed Romney his ass on a silver platter. CNN is infuriating in their efforts to appear unbiased.

the bbc is essentially like "well, to people like you and i it looks like a curbstomp, americans are not like you or i".

C-Span is full of people saying that Romney won... they are saying that he provided more specifics.

I don't even... how the fuck?

Also, Romney left the stage really, really early. Obama is still around chatting with everyone.

Losers don't hang out on the field after the championship, that's why.

It's obvious. Romney being the winner made the race a tie.

Jesus Christ, Obama killed it. I was expecting goodness, maybe greatness, but not that level of awesomeness.

That's because Romney was trailing Obama by 5% points prior to debates and losing every swing state.

I'm listening to the Politico post debate thing. Are they considered centrist? or biased either way? I have no idea, but would like a baseline to listen to their commentary to.

Why is CNN proclaiming Romney had a great night?

A couple possible reasons:

- Romney's responses were mostly tailored to reinforce his message and to counter Obama's message in swing states specifically
- As long as Romney can establish himself as an acceptable alternative, he's doing well in an environment where the challenger has the advantage.

I don't see this debate moving the needle in Obama's direction, though it may slow the Romney preference cascade.

Binders full of women sounds like a rap chorus.

"I got binders full of women binders-binders full of women"

I refuse to be put in something as pedestrian as a binder. I accept no less than an authentic Trapper Keeper with Sonic the Hedgehog on the front...and absolutely no crumpled up math questions crammed in it. Get it right, Romney.

Obama completely flipped Libya into a positive. Republicans look like idiots talking about it now.

Agreed. Every time they bring it up I'm like shut the fuck up lol. Pretty effective indeed. But partly because neither side of ould have prevented this and these are sensitive issues not to be politicised. That and Ryan's budget was the one that tried to usher in those security cuts in the first place!

Pretty much.

Obama botched the question, but since Romney never attacked him for it, Obama basically got away with his own version of the story.

His first answer to Libya avoided the question.

His second absolutely destroyed Romney, and to anyone who cares about what happened in Libya -- it flipped their vote if they're wise.

i disagree, if only because the libya exchange was horrible optics for Romney. since debates frequently come down to "who looks more presidential" regardless of substance, Romney doubling down on the stupid, getting owned, and the audience applauding is going to stand out and move some numbers.

This is bullshit. Secret service agents don't look like secret service agents in the movies.

Where are the sunglasses.

Bullshit, Obama lose for having lame Secret Service.
