I see. What does that have to do with the question you responded to?

I'm just noticing some passive aggressive sniping and I'm trying to figure out if something specific triggered it. Is it a Japanese games thing?

It's like why does he do so many quick looks if he's always negative about games. He should be enjoying games and being more positive about them. If he dislikes nearly everything why play anything to begin with.

Overall my anger towards him comes from his general lack of gaming knowledge. Every time I hear him saying something that is incorrect, that he states as fact it sours my enjoyment of the podcast.

Patrick has been in this industry too long. He's just become so jaded that he can't even enjoy games anymore.

Maybe he should take a vacation or something.

you should start your own podcast.

You should be glad you didn't see Spookin' last night. He hated on System Shock 2's music quite a bit :P

The best part about this post is that until I looked at the post that started all this I thought this was about Jeff.

I'm not a huge Patrick fan less because of who he is and more because I don't like how he plays off Ryan and Brad, but what is with the hate? He doesn't like the same games as so you and gets things wrong from time to time on something that never gets edited? I would get it if he was vitriolic in the way he complained about specific games and was close-minded about it, but Patrick always levels fairly realistic complaints with specific references and is probably the most willing person on the site to try a new game. In regards to the accuracy he most great on recorded stuff, but his articles are always well researched and if something changes after the fact he will often go back and update it for accuracy if the information is presented to him in a timely manner.

Never mind this is unforgivable.

nights is such a bad game ugggh why did i put a passionate defense of it on the front page of the site and say the reason i did so was because i liked it ugggh and i then gushed over dust on the podcast this week ugggh must reprogram ani-games agenda uggggh shh don't' tell anyone i'm here!! (also, yes, that techno music that blares constantly in ss2 totally sucks)

you're a furry

Jeff and Patrick have apparently become one person.

He knows everything about every game ever made, and will talk about them until the red star consumes this foul unclean planet.

I read this as a message board version of your annoying whisper. God damn it.

fyi Patrick if you want to do a VLR QL you can get like ten hours into it and not lose anything having not played 999 but around that point you should probably go back and play 999 before continuing with VLR

I completely agree that the "Battle Theme" in SS2 is trash.

Nights is better than Dishonored and Halo 4, bout equal with RE6.

Near the end of Halo 2 on the marathon and man does this game fucking suck. Worst level design ever. It's even boring to watch them play it.

Considering I'm on part 9 of 12 I doubt they're gonna make it to the end of 3 :(

NO SPOILARZ PLZ UR NOT RYAN DAVIS

Halo 2 campaign was such a slog toward the end. Just an endless flood of the Flood. I like going back to Halo:CE, Halo 3, even ODST and Reach... but I will never touch Halo 2 again.

Wasn't there a boss fight at the end of that game? What the fuck happened.

I'm going to order them on Amazon today, unless Jeff already picked it up.

The biggest disappointment of TNT was not the "spoilers." It was learning that Jeff doesn't care about the historical stuff from the Assassin's Creed series.

i think Jeff mentioned in the past that he doesn't care about history in general. correct me if i'm wrong.

It would be more interesting if it tried to be something other than Da Vinci Code type trash. "Every person you've ever heard of in history was famous because they were illuminati/aliens/magic and it's all tied together in the cleanest conspiracy theory ever." It's too bad they weren't confident enough in those historical settings standing on their own, and had to rope in dumb sci-fi elements.

Jeff lives in the now he doesn't have time for stuff like history.

Absolutely, he only wants to know about what's hot today. If only he were more interested in games of the past, there are some gems out there!

Regarding Dishonored, I think it was a pretty very cool game (played through it non-lethally/stealthily, of course). And high chaos/low chaos playthroughs do make for some pretty significant differences, contrary to what was said on the podcast: Much more walkers and dismay in the city, very disturbed drawings by Emily on high chaos, different ending level (support or direct hostile action by Sam), different Ending, ...

Just watched the Sleeping Dogs QL. Dear God was that amazing. Vinny slowly going insane.

Odd, though, because I never had any issues with my version of the DLC on the PC.

Also, I still say everyone who sends invites/messages to one of them when they're recording should be banned and/or shot. Truth.

I was in no way serious when I posted, but in hindsight it makes no sense what so ever taking things like his recent turbografx escapades into consideration.

Ravaged QL, 18:25 ... "let's learn from a master" ... best QL moment since that bear getting launched into the sun in Skyrim.

Had a bad thought today, fellow duders. Know how GB has had share studio space lately, and end their podcasts "early"? Could this mean their typical Game of the Year coverage could be interfered with? They typically lock themselves in a room for six, eight, ten hours at a time over a day or two. Can they even do that now?

There are solutions to this problem -- such as just making GOTY discussions another Chili party at Dave's house, or doing more video features instead of podcasts regarding GOTY -- but I hope they're thinking ahead if this could be an issue.

I'm sure it'll be fine. If anything, having to break it up into a few more days may give the rest of the crew the stamina to argue and fight harder for the games they actually played and liked instead of giving in early just to end an argument.

I find it weird that Steve Gaynor was complaining about 999 to Patrick on twitter. He was complaining about unskippable text, but once you have seen a piece of text on one play through you can literally skip ALL the way back to the next decision point on subsequent playthroughs. Though you should know that Patrick!

It's not that I care about, it's the beautiful settings. The cities (especially Rome, Florence and Venice) are gorgeous.

eh I think the complaint is just not worded correctly. I remember playing 999 and on my first play through wanting to fast forward the text. Not skip as in what you're talking about but press a button so that the text fully appears on screen and doesn't get typed out 1 letter at a time at an unbearably slow pace.

The speed of the text is the greatest flaw of that game by far.

One of the big reasons they do it in a day or two is to have that filibuster feel. So I think it is a little concerning, but I'd hope they already worked that out. It could be they just have to record on a different day of the week.

True. I hope they've at least got a rough plan for what to do.

I'm more interested to see how downloadable, independent Steam/XBLA/PSN/etc games are handled. In past years they've already said that the category will take on a new meaning as more and more downloadable games grow in quality and quantity. With some of this year's biggest boxed retail releases disappointing in one way or another, the categories and lists could look pretty different from previous years.
