Questions - Kirto Name
Apparently, A1 somehow screwed this up but the idea was that he used an actual japanese character set for his username as opposed to romanji like he did in SAO.
edit:
Wow, this is kinda a tasteless shirt

Ive had the wrong assumption the whole time?.I thought Imouto knew it was her brother in game the whole time, but they made it seem as if she didnt know that Kirito acts like her brother :/ At least we do know she likes her brother
Good action and log out schema. Though was not a fan of that Imouto fanservice/change clothes scene, awkward.
Oh and apparently Asuna took about a gazzilion years to think ofusing the mirror. Did she never notice that her reflection was the only thing not jpegified?
Normally I don't care enough to help fill in plot holes in the anime that are explained in LN narration, but I'm bored right now.It looks like she only saw it by accident but realized what was happening in time. Seems like there's a bug there that Sugou didn't anticipate.
The part in the very beginning with Suguha talking about her experience flying and the tower scene made me think about how if we ever get our hands on VR of this kind in our life time(unlikely), there will definitely be some issues raised with people preferring the game to RL due to how fulfilling it would be compared to their real life.

Also, fanservice.
At least we'll (hopefully) be getting some action next episode.
Still watching the first ten episodes. Concept went from "Fucking cool" into "Meh, another harem-animu." Please tell me it gets better, or does Mr. Beater keep conveniently running into helpless warrior maidens and befriending them?
Looks like we're finally getting away from Fairy Fucker Online bullshit and going back to Cool Action Fights Online: http://www.swordart-online.net/story/index19.html
I hope so anyway. >_>
Episode 19
Holy shit that was a solid episode. Why the hell can't every episode be something like this one? It has almost everything that makes something entertaining. It has its little humorous quirks, solid action, and Kirito being... well.... Kirito. Fuck. Great episode.

I lol'd hard!
agree, I'm getting some EVE vibes too.
When I first started watching SAO, I had compared the game mechanics to that of WoW and felt that it was really lacking, as a game. It wasn't until SAO 19 that I realized both SAO and AO are closer to EVE than WoW, and suddenly a lot of the game stuff makes more sense (the plot is still contrived, but the concept of the games themselves is much easier to understand).
Every week, during what I think is the NicoVideo rebroadcast a few days after the episode airs, Kawahara does a little episode commentary via Twitter that usually clears up stuff like this; hopefully it'll be included in his notes for episode 19.I didn't understand how his illusion magic makes him in to a physical monster. I know he already had a hacked account because he kept his stats but he constantly gets stuff that no players in the games get.
He turned into a boss monster, he's basically broken and has spent like 3 days in the game.

My guess is, all the illusion does is give him increased size, but considering Kirito's maxed out physical attack stats, it basically meant he could do whatever he wanted.
Not to my knowledge, but I can normally use Google Translate combined with what I know from the original LN to make rough sense of any new info he posts. Here's the account; I think the rebroadcast (and thus commentary) starts around 24:00 JST on Mondays. Is this translated and collected anywhere? Sounds neat.
