Video: Bronies (grown men) invade little girls' section of Toys R Us

My basis for this is the fact that they are grown men parading around a toy store aisle acting like 8 year old girls and deriving similar satisfaction by doing so. How else, other than regression and validation (others are doing it so its ok for me to do it) can you explain what was documented in that video? The sincerity of their pony enthusiasm is quite perturbing.

We also need to acknowledge that in this case, "asexual" really means "Sexually and emotionally unfit for a relationship with another human being." It's a conscious reservation to being forever alone, made better by having a community of like minded people to share experiences with.

Except you'll take note, none are from the same source.

Now if they were all star wars reply gifs, then yes I'd agree.

But if you have all those I quote and one MLP picture, what happens? Only the MLP picture is commented on. Then people say "every thread someone has to post MLP into."

too right there hasn't been any MLP trolling in GAF threads in forever. And when it did happen, the ones who did it weren't even members of PonyGAF, and didn't frequent MLP threads anyway. They just did it to get a reaction.

Well let's check this very pony thread.
PopGAF is the only recognizable community in those gifs, and they're loathed by many as well. The biggest difference probably is that PopGAF doesn't get quite as much exposure, if only because it is obviously unique to GAF.

I'm not saying it's right, but your post doesn't show any inconsistency in GAF's behavior.

[Why are the people in the OP all excited about this toy, but not the others?]
I feel like in these 35 or so pages, this question wasn't answered well enough.

1. For a while, this toy was the closest to being show accurate. Every other toy uses the older shows' toy molds/shapes, so they don't look like the current show. On that note, the McDonalds toys in 2011 were also very poopular for this reason, but they also had the downside of brushable hair.

2. Molded hair. The brushable hair doesn't look show accurate and is very difficult to get show accurate.

I still generally prefer people to have decorum, to act completely non-douchey, and to not draw attention to themselves unnecessarily when out in public. So this video that I refuse to watch, I tend to classify the people in it as outliers.

That image pretty much encapsulates the appropriate response to that statement. I'll allow it.
If you dont understand how vital hair accuracy is, you can't qualify as an adequate judge.

I feel the need to say that as someone who's gone through these toy aisles to look for those specific toys, entering a "girl's aisle" was a bit difficult. I felt like I was walking into/through a wall of heavy air. The whole aisle being pink was probably a part of it.

Looking back on that makes me realize how strong the whole stigma of boys/girls colors/toys is and how funny it is.

so you guys want a badly animated cartoon with a central theme of adolescent friendship viewed through a mature lens with humour and character interactions which are genuinely appropriate for your level of development?

i want 10,000 gifs by sundown.
Man, this show was so good. Incredible voice acting.

Now link me a thread that ponyGAF has taken over.

If you could find me one from the last year I'd be damn impressed.

What the Majority Inside the Fandom Think:
Trekker = "Anyone who enjoys watching Star Trek and possibly collecting paraphernalia."
Otaku = "Anyone who enjoys watching anime and possibly collecting paraphernalia."
Furry = "Anyone who enjoys anthropomorphic art and possibly collecting paraphernalia."
Bronie = "An adult male who enjoys watching MLP and possibly collecting paraphernalia."

I watch and collect anime and anime related things, but I dont identify as an otaku
I like certain kinds of anthropomorphic art, but I dont identify as a furry
I like Star Trek but in no way would I call myself a trekkie

labels make it too easy to assume things about people and its fuel for hate

Bronies on the other hand seem to be a very specific type of fan, being adult male fans of a kids show and they all want you to know about it and accept them

As opposed to something comical, which I'm almost certain was the original intent.

The neat part is that Tara Strong consistently uses a similar voice when voice acting so it is easy as hell to find things that ponies shouldn't be saying. A quick youtube search also gives us racist Twilight Sparkle and Twilight Sparkle saying she'll slap us with her cock.

Pro-Tip, if something seems absolutely bizarre and ends with the new MLP theme, it was made for the purposes of comedy.

Actually I was just looking for a tame video I could link on here as opposed to the bevvy of sexual mlp material out there. That one in particular probably was just comedy (?) judging by the other vids on that channel, but whatever. The mlp rule 34 output is staggering.

Good point.

I'll defend it because it's meant to be hilarious, which it is. I won't defend the people that are taking it sexually.

What's wrong with people with strange fetishes?

I post about my experiences with BDSM and everyone's like, "cool;" but can't seem to get over people liking other weird things. The spirit of Puritanism is apparently alive and well on neogaf, for all of their protestations to enlightenment.

MLP content output in general is staggering. There's a reason that there is a pony version of everything, this fanbase is constantly creating. Quite frankly that's one of the main reasons I enjoy the series so much, even if the show has a few weak episodes the fanbase continues strong. Check the community thread, there are thousands of pony pics with more coming all the time.

I'd be surprised if the ratio of pony fanworks that's rule 34 is much higher than most other fanbases. Yes there is a TON of it out there, but I think you underestimate how much pony fans have created in general.

Look, I'm not going to tell people what to like, but goddamn. The whole thing just reeks of the "Parrot Ass Club".

Huh. That seems like WAY longer of a video than I'm willing to watch to know what the hell you're talking about. UrbanDictionary and google have no clue either, so I'm just gonna pretend you said nothing instead of wasting my time with a video given by somebody who thinks colorful cartoon ponies have anything at all innately sexy about them.

If you like I could post dozens of pictures of "sexy" pokemon. We don't get on PokeGAF for wanted to screw squirtle do we?

The link takes you straight to the part I was talking about.

Ugh, whatever. If dudes want to obsess over cartoons for pre-teen girls, then go for it. It's not my problem.

I'm not even PopGAF. I love response gifs and have been doing that shit since long before PopGAF even was a thing.

Sorry, youtubeme made me think it'd be an hour and a half wait. That was just... yeah.

After watching it, it's cool if you wanna poke fun. Saying we're unloved, unwashed pedophiles who wouldn't be missed if we all died on the other hand feels... a bit harsh.

Perhaps my main issue is that people tend to see all pony fans as the same? That way they can assume if one has deviant behavior they must all behave that way. This seems so... utterly foolish that I can't understand why any intelligent person would think that way however.

This fucking thread. I had a dream where I watched MLP and became a brony. Never again.

the brainwashing is working.

At this point, I don't think buying childrens toys make you any more likely to be a pedophile then being a priest or a boy scout troop leader.

lolololololoololol

This has nothing to do with watching a TV show. I watched the pilot out of curiosity after the explosion of popularity here, and it wasn't for me, but it was cute and had elements that could be appreciated by all ages. I wouldn't begrudge anyone for watching it or saying that they enjoyed it, just as I wouldn't for something like Batman: TAS or a shounen anime or The Lion King.

Being a brony is a lifestyle choice.

hmmmm... i watch the show and buy some of the toys and have a mlp shirt, but i dont obsess over it or hang out with other Bronies irl and talk about it 24/7. so... im like in the middle i guess. i have toys and shirts of alot of other shows/games i like as well so im just a nerd in general lol.

From what I gathered from this thread, GAF is more tolerant of users who sexualize cartoon ponies, than being republican or Christian.

the gauntlet has been thrown!

ok i got a new video, which i didnt even know happened.

this internet cartoon maker named Hotdiggitydemon has gotten pretty popular for his MLP parody series, and he recently did a panel at a Brony convention with fellow internet cartoon maker Egoraptor, the dude who does the Awesome video game parodies and Sequelitis.

i watched some of it, its pretty bad.
