I love how declaring a game a success and good before release is rational judgment but being negative is just blind fanboyism.

Believe me, Capcom does not hate Marvel. It's more about Marvel being such a bitch to work with. If Capcom were given free reign in regards to Marvel, we'd be on MvC6 and have 18 offshoots by now, some of them being shipped off to western developers and people would be disgusted by this point...
lolno.
Haters gonna hate man.
They'll do it in the OT as well.
Just got to live with it at this point.

I've been waiting eagerly for Capcpom to outsource a fighter to a western studio, to see the shitstorm.
But no luck yet.
Since it was brought up, I really have to wonder where NT will go with DmC 2. They have already have used up 2 main villains from the series and essentially the two most important ones. I don't really see them going anywhere with the story after DmC but then again they could be in a prime position to present a new angle to the story.. maybe have some villainous angel characters.
On the game play side they HAVE to prioritize 60FPS and balance the game around that. Up the tempo of the game, improve the sound design, the hit boxes and most importantly improve the broken style system. They also should have a more open level design, DmC is more linear than the most linear DMC game. They should also reconsider putting lock on in the game but at the very least they should remove the 2nd dodge button and replace it with something better. I would also like them to increase the gravity of the game in general and for some of the moves. Improving enemy designs and AI should also be at the top of their list for the next game.

Like people haven't been shitting on Ezekial for slurping up NT's DmC for the past year. Or taking jett to task for his anticipation of the game.
Give me a ticket to what universe you living in, nigga
Your value of a Metascore is strange. Journalists didn't even mention Dodge offset in most reviews for Bayonetta and it's one of the key features in the game. Why should I care about their opinion on an action game if they are unaware of a key feature?Well, if the game is garbage as some people are suggesting, then I do expect this to be reflected by a very low Metascore. I mean, we can all agree that RE6 was a bad game, the Metascore reflects this, even if the game itself is still fun to play. However, if DmC will get high scores and positive reviews it means the game is great and all this DmC hate is not due to the quality of the game itself, but to people who don't enjoy the changes made from the old DMC.
I don't understand why there's no punishment for a failed/not timed demon dodge.
It would make the normal dodge have a use at all, at least.

No, it's actually very simple. If a game is garbage is garbage, and the Metascore will show it.
Different people have different standards and expectations. I expect to see mixed reviews. The release is going to be highly politicized for a lot of reasons.Well, if the game is garbage as some people are suggesting, then I do expect this to be reflected by a very low Metascore. Putting an aggregate on products as subjective as video games doesn't mean shit, I can't agree with that at all. Did you know there are people who actually like Resident Evil 6 and don't think it's garbage in the slightest?
It's not more valuable but you have to see where a person is coming from before labeling them a "hater". If there are clear and logical arguments presented then a point of view should be valued. So exactly how much more valuable is the opinion of the haters then?
Why don't you read what people say and make up your own mind about it lolSo exactly how much more valuable is the opinion of the haters then?
I don't think so. Devil May Cry is (or was) a solid brand, and DMC4 was a really good entry despite the backtracking.

To me a statement like "game is fun buy it now!" is useless. Likewise so is "game is shit, NT is garbage developer". Now if someone comes in and says "game is good here's why" I am more likely to listen to that but even then I have to gauge it with my personal like and dislikes. Of course the explanations and reasoning have to be based on solid knowledge and experience.
If Pokey came back on IGN and told me DmC is the next coming in terms of combat exhibition and skill display, I would be curious.
Looks like Rvy got banned.
But DMC4 only sold that well because of the climate of the time (only hardcore action game available, on a multiplatform for the first time, good will from DMC4, Q1 release window with no other action game released that quarter etc).
any game will struggle to get those kind of sales at the tail end of a generation, especially with so many options now out there, both released and coming soon. that's not even taking into account the different economic climates and the willingness of gamers to wait for price drops rather than buying day 1
I'm sorry, I just don't believe a DMC5 would of sold more or the same as DMC4. It might have done slightly better than DmC overall, but only just.
Too CURAYHZEE for you.

This. The sales numbers for DMC4 have went to the heads of the hardcore. Capcom said in one of their interviews that the sales dropped off, and the PS3 version lagged behind the 360 version in a big way. It was released at the right time.
I think you're spending too much time on 4Chan.
EDIT: wow, he's banned. what the hell did he do?
Why don't you read what people say and make up your own mind about it lol
And if critics give low scores to fan darlings aren't they haters?

I was a big fan of the demo. Yes, the combat was objectively worse than the other DMC games but I liked the combat in the demo and the art direction was very appealing to me. If that keeps up in the whole game then I'll be very happy with the game. I wasn't expecting the demo to be as good as it was so when I say it's "good in it's own right" I mean it based on what I've played and was impressed by instead of having a vendetta against this game since the day it was announced.
And why do you think some people of issues with the game? I am not saying you have to agree with them, I am just wondering if you know people's complaints, even since day 1. It's not just "haters gonna hate", btw
Besides, people have various concerns too, so even among the people who are skeptical there remain a spectrum of attitudes and opinions toward this game
I agree with several of the concerns but I still like the game. I'm just tired of every thread about the game turning to complete shit because of a few people's undying rage about it. I just hate not being able to properly discuss a game because of it. The same thing happens with Mass Effect 3 and Syndicate. I guess I'll just never understand people who keep posting about something they don't like. Part of my positivity for this game stems from liking the demo a hell of a lot more than I expected to.

You can properly discuss the game here. Bring up your points, concerns and insights.. most people will be happy to discuss (or at least I will). I liked the demo too and I played it more than any other demo in recent memory. A lot of my concerns are geared towards improving the game for a better experience for all. If not for this game then maybe for DmC2.
By the way I will be making a "Guide for Newbies" post for DmC. Just a small write up of some of the stuff you can do in the game. I am sure people will be asking for "how do you do that move or whats the point of that move" in the OT so that post will cover such basic stuff. Certainly the control/moveslist write up came in handy for the demo thread.
I see. I actually thought the threads have gotten a lot better since last year (2012). It's funny because I feel the same way as you do except the opposite - it's hard to critically discuss the game/footage/demo without being accused of being a hater, of being concerned only about Dante's hair, or that previous DMCs sucked/outdated etc.
Maybe we are all in similar predicament without realizing it lol
but it's cool that you like the demo...there's plenty to like about it. For me it is at least a decent/unique visual treat in a visual medium
Some guy claiming to have a DmC guide from a magazine.

Weapon moves, number of missions, bosses but nothing about Bloody Palace.
None of the reviews mention Bloody palace either. I'm starting to believe it'll be dlc.
Nostradahbomb strikes again.
Furnace of Souls is a mission name as expected.
Oh shit Gbraga sighted in that forum!
Concede what?Well, I was wrong about the furnace of souls being BP mode.
I'm still not ready to concede though.

The odds are stacked against you then.that BP (or equivalent) won't be in the game Day 1.
Basically the same as DMC4 in terms of how much they had already revealed. I really don't think there was any real surprise in DMC4 when the guide came out. A lot of people were holding out for a surprise Vergil fight but nope... you fight Sanctus 3 times instead. No new weapons for Nero and Dante was a massive letdown.Yeah, confirms only 6 bosses, no Bloody Palace, and we've seen all 90% of the moveset so far.

No mention of it in the guide or in the achievements. No PR announcement on it. Just a vague hint on an interview which never excluded the possibility of it being DLC.
