Prefer 48-60fps. 30fps locked isn't too bad as long as there is no screen tearing.

Processing speed is not faster rather bandwidth of the processor relative to the cell rather is higher or wider however you look at it.

Yes, I always wonder what will set GAF off, and this was truly an innocent comment. To be honest with you, I have no idea how many frames per second the human eye can process, am pretty sure it's more than 60 fps, since we can all see the difference between 30 and 60, but I have no clue if we can see more than 120 fps, or if we can even see that. I was merely explaining to Cliff Edwards that four times the processing power would make the machine capable of rendering at that speed. I have no idea what the games will look like, which features they will incorporate, but my guess is that the specs will be sufficiently powerful that developers won't be particularly constrained from getting the look and feel that they desire. As one commenter pointed out, PC games have once again moved past console games, and each new generation of consoles allows the consoles to partially catch up.

GAF usually reacts if I comment on technical specifications, charging more money for anything, or make any comment that has the word "Nintendo" in it. To answer your question, I always presume that if I talk about any of these topics, GAF will go ballistic.

This is an excellent post and brings up many of the reasons why I don't particularly care about Pachter. Especially the belittling of people that don't agree with him.

I watch his GT show weekly and have for years, but admitedly it is primarily for eye candy, which I'm not ashamed to admit. I may have a bit of a crush, but that doesn't blind me to his utter hypocrisy in terms of his name calling and his tendancy to make cocky, unqualified, unsubstantiated claims. The less buttons on the shirt the more tolerable I find the episode, to be entirely honest. It is a guilty pleasure.

Definitely more. I agree with you, Michael. There is no need to be upset. I love your opinions, mostly because you always talk properly. For example, when a few weeks ago you said;

I think the problem here is that you have a voice that a lot of people listen to (and I'm talking about markets). And quite frankly your opinion combined with a lack of understanding at times has put you in a position of severe ridicule.

After the expectations we had last generation and what we actually received, yes i have low expectations.

What i was expecting was a beautiful 1080p, 60fps and all that stuff. What we typically got 540p and 30fps.

If we are under the assumption that disc load speeds are the same as the PS3, and the RAM is filled at the same speed as the PS3... then yes you are. It takes longer to fill a bigger bucket full of water from a tap if you're filling it at the same rate as you filled a smaller one. Obviously, those two assumptions are likely to be incorrect.
