I haven't seen this yet. Interesting!
I posted a link for it a few pages back.
I haven't seen this yet. Interesting!
Holy shit, this is hands down the WORST looking game I've seen on PS3. This has to be some huge mistake, why would they release a beta looking this bad? I'm gonna have to cancel my pre-order; the level of GTFO is quite high.
This is easily on par with PS2 graphics... hell, even MGS2 and GoW2 look leaps and bounds better than what I just played. The resolution is so poor you can't make out any text or facial features.
This is what happens when you make a game meant for PC and next gen consoles and try to make it work on a system from 2006.
People need to cut this argument out. The game looks worse than Crysis and Crysis 2 in every way on the same platforms, from the same developers, on the same engine. If it even just looked on par with previous games there wouldn't be an issue but it's a significant downgrade in every way, both visually and performance wise.

Playing on the PC and its running alright with my GTX 680 and my aging Phenom ii X4 at 3.6ghz. Question for settings though, do people turn blurring off? I noticed in the GamerSyde videos that everything looks crazy smooth. Is this also a function of the monitor they recorded it on? I have an IPS screen but it cant be that, because then I assume my playback of the video would also be affected. I assume it can only mean that its running at a much higher FPS?
Maldo has some settings that make it run better. He also advises using Vsync w/ D3DOverrider, which I can say is great, and makes the game super smooth for me and when I'm recording I also notice it's very smooth. I don't mind the motion blur, myself, but the way they use Chromatic Aberration is a bit too much for me so I use
Maldo config is basically High setting with SSDO on![]()
hm...

I guess the only thing that's changed is the post-processing (mentioned by the developer to be SMAA T2x), although I think only the one shot from LoT managed to show the temporal AA ghost, which may indicate just how good the algorithm is at eliminating it if all the screens so far are an indication. *shrug* I haven't quite seen the usual temporal 2xAA shade (MGS4/Reach).
The texture res differences in their comparison are curious. Did C2 have texture streaming issues? I can't remember the face-offs (+don't have the game).
Maybe already posted, you get $20 Amazon credit for pre-odering Crysis 3.
I hope you realize that the resolution is actually much MUCH higher than every PS2 game ever made not to mention the much higher level of detail. It doesn't look great but your hyperbole is way off base here.Holy shit, this is hands down the WORST looking game I've seen on PS3. Alright guys... Curious about the resolution on consoles?
AlStrong from B3D & GAF delivers the goods.

well, it's 720 lines, so they could still call it 'hd'Lol the console versions running at subhd res again.
I'm trying to check this out now but I've just been sitting in lobbies for the past 30 minutes. It always says 'waiting for 1 more player' even when there are 16/16.
Anyone know what the deal is?
Their video is going at 1080p 60fps, which you may not be used to seeing in a video. Believe me even after playing it at 60fps it still looks a bit different in videos.

"R_Chromaticaberration 0" to get rid of it. (If you use Maldo's autoexec.cfg, add "R_chromaticaberration = 0" to it.)
I also disable the Color Grading, because I prefer it off.
R_Colorgrading 0" in console (or "R_colorgrading = 0" in autoexec.cfg)
This video was taken with Maldo's cfg and D3DOverrider.
This video was taken without Vsync or D3DOverrider.
It's hard to tell with youtube, but there's definitely a difference.
Both have color grading turned off, and I believe both have Cromatic aberration turned off.
Really? Color grading is a technique commonly used in film to achieve a specific tone for a scene. Whether you like the end result or not doesn't change the fact that it has nothing to do with the display you are using. Disabling it is basically eliminating the original artists intent for the scene.I have been bitching about r_colorgrading for sometime. Don't see why anyone would use this if they have a good monitor. This command and other command bork your colormangement settings. Thank god sweetfx and 3rd party programs exist to make the game look more vibrant like the real world does instead of that nasty blue or green tinge they add to everything.
More or less. What I did was to analyze the new presets for each of the settings and then test all the variables that were modified to find ones that were unlocked. So I could see the parallax mapping was activated in all presets, there was no tesselación materials in either map, cvar r_SSReflections is now unrelated to the reflections on the water and e_lodratio = 20 (used in high and very high) could be reduced without impact in the IQ but greatly reducing the CPU resources (lowering polycount). SSAO produces some artifacts (noise in dark areas) and SSDOs fixes it, gives better quality with the same performance. The shadows of the particles and their physics over dynamic objects also consumes CPU and are not appreciable effects in multiplayer gameplay.
Deleted the beta (PS3) after 30 mins of play. Looks even worst than PS3 BF3. Sad coz gunplay feels solid, reminds me of Killzone 2.
I would totally buy a Crysis Triolology Collection for next gen consoles at 60fps 1080p. Do it Crytek pls.
You know that Crysis 1 doesnt even get 60fps on a modern GPU at 1080p
Hmmm...what's up with those nasty outlines that appear around the world in darker areas? They seem to flicker in and out of existence depending on where you stand. It looks absolutely awful. Surely it must be a bug related to the beta and not a "feature".
Going by the latest driver trend my computer will start arcing electricity after the install , but I'm desperate enough to try them.Just as a heads up, AMD has released another beta driver that improves performance in Crysis 3.
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst132BetaDriver.aspx
The game now runs at a locked 60 w/ everything on max (not using MSAA) for me.
Have not bothered with the beta yet, but wow at some of the impressions. Crysis 2 actually looked pretty damn snazzy on the PS3 and 360, and played great as well. What happened?
How much longer is the beta available?
