Not confirmed, just speculation. The last two portable entries getting HD ports are a good reason to suspect it might.

I hope so. I liked what i played on my 3ds but no online multiplayer is killing it for me. I'll probably pick it up on wii u when there's a price drop/other interesting games come down the line.

Capcom should put that app on the Wii shop as well, seems silly not to. Although, it's always been silly to me in general that Nintendo doesn't offer a straight up Adhoc Party clone of their own.

3 didn't really have enough content to justify wacky 2G playtimes, 150 is actually pretty hefty for 3, I feel.

Hopefully 3G will pad out better, I don't think I'll be dumping gobs of time into it like I used to, not without any friends with Wii U's especially, but I'll probably pick at it for a longer period of time.

4 will probably be different though. I can guilt trip stragglers into a 3DS.

I suppose isnt measly, but it does require a significant amount if you wanted to get to the more intense quests.
Although I read somewhere that you dont have to reach a specific HR in Ultimate before you can get to the higher level quests. If you complete the necessary event quests, you can move on.

There is no spoon. You just need a Wii U.

Guys, a few more questions,

1. Any streetpass support?
2. From what I've read here, the time I'll spend on this is 150hrs, it seems to be the average. Correct?
3. How many blocks / MBs does it require?

Thanks again.

Christian Svensson from Capcom stated the file size is "somewhere between 1 and 2 GB" for 3DS.

We wiped 3 clean in WELL under 150, I think it was closer to 100, even taking our time and experimenting tons. Didn't bother for any completionist stuff (completing armory, etc) though as we just went back to 2G to work on it some more, 3 was a hefty drop off in content and difficulty from 2G

While 3G ramps up the content back to a proper level, I heard with Portable 3rd and 3G they really sliced into the difficulty even more. Getting to be kind of obnoxious, I'm buying the game no matter what but I hope it isn't THAT easy.

I'm gonna keep sayin' it, but if they insist on these things, they need to add in difficulty modes. I still want one to take it back to the classical days. To me, MH1 was what MH is supposed to be (in terms of challenge). Shit all hit like trucks, dropping anything was basically cause for celebration and everything was so damned meaningful. I miss those big gathering sessions before taking on a new boss and having to blow your whole inventory on it.

It was indeed too much for more casual players but hey, I'm just askin' fer a difficulty mode! For a game of this type, you really can't have a final difficulty mode that's too hard. Not that it was unbearable levels of hard or anything, still not as hard as something like a Souls game. Not as long as you went in prepared and smart, anyway.

I've been considering buying a PS2 (since I've never had one) to get MH1 & 2. I'd like to see the differences in difficulty. Watching youtube wouldnt be enough for me.

see i played MH1 offline, back in the day,and whilst the challenge is great, and each of the token monsters feels more significant, the games just have some horrible design flaws that make them shocking to play, its less to do with the battlingof monster and more to do with item and box interface, ability to farm resources, mission avalbility.

in some senses they really haven't aged well, whilst graphics and combat still feel good.

You may have fought all the monsters, but I doubt you "wiped 3 clean" in that little amount of time. There's quite of bit of meaningful gameplay in the various sets that can be created before heading into mindless equipment collection territory IMO. The charm/talisman system is kind of a cheap way of doling out some of those set possibilities but I've had fun with the gameplay all the same so I can't complain too much.

I really hope the difficulty doesn't continue on a downward trend in an effort to sell copies. I think Tenbatsu said 3G/U is a step up from P3rd in that regard though.

Yeah, I've put 65 hours into Tri and that's like, not even a full armor set, barely 10% of that time being online, and the main game not yet beaten.

Then again I like to faff around a bit.

.

You can't compare difficulty levels of portable 3rd and 3g - the former is much easier, although 3G is of course not comparable to 2nd gen difficulty.

Tough choice if you have both the 3DS and Wii U.

If I had a Wii U, I'd go with HD because I couldn't stand Tri on the Wii because of the muddy visuals. I knew there was a great game underneath but "ugh," the graphics were atrocious on a HDTV with component cables.

Also, the 2nd analog stick to control the camera is a HUGE plus. It's really hard to do that on the 3DS with the d-pad or even with the virtual d-pad. If the 3DS touch screen was like a iPhone, then that'd be no problem. But I hate pressing firmly on the 3DS touch screen just to barely make the v d-pad work.

great now i don't know which version i want. 3D for $40 or HD for $60.
If you're going to be tied down to sitting next to the Wii U anyways then I'd think HD visuals and a second real analog would be better. Swimming is a pain on the 3DS.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about Rayman Legends Wii U.
Just played the 3DS demo after enjoying the Wii U demo for a while...

I think I like the 3DS version better. 0_o;

The demo Dual Swords do feel OP. It's my least favorite weapon type by far, I find them boring to use, but they gave me the fastest kill time on Lagombi. I will never go for the Dual Swords in the real game.

Because the 3DS version we get is a translation of the one that was released in December 2010 2011.

I wish people would read when the damn thing was released in Japan so they know that it didn't have online when it was released

I am aware.

But oh sorry, you're completely right that makes the whole affair completely acceptable.

I actually had to look and see if this was my post, because a while ago I posted something similar. I know the feel bro :(
I have no interest in a wii-u and I have a 3ds.

Is a Wii U MH bundle in NA completely ruled out at this point? Has a price for the European bundle come out yet? The ZombiU bundle seems good from a value standpoint but I'd rather not spend an extra $100 on 2 games that I wouldn't be playing for a while.

As someone who played the 3DS demo first and recently got a Wii U, the framerate on the Wii U version felt a little funky, and I think there's just a little bit of added input delay. Still, I love having dual analog and it's totally worth it for the online play.

The reason it's happening in Europe is because Nintendo is publishing the game there, but not in North America.

I don't really care to put my fingers on touch screens not meant for touch use (hell, even on those smudging's annoying), and in any case there IS a solution... except apparently the XL version's never getting an official US release even from the Nintendo store. Getting it out there for Monster Hunter would've been perfect timing too.

I'm hanging for this on Wii U, so I played some Tri last night....almost every game I played there would be at least 1 person asking for fucking cool drink!!

I wish Capcom had taken the opportunity to make the village seem more alive by adding a few more npcs and having them either just walking around or standing around. Even if they did nothing. Either in the village itself on in the garden area. It's always bugged me that the area seemed so empty and wished the online area was the offline area. Moga village is clearly bigger then the area you can move around. Would have liked to have seen the entire thing in these latest version (both Wii U and 3DS). A shame. I hope things end up being different in MH4 but I'm really doubting it.

Being able to theme the village after a certain monster you fought would be nice as well. Similar to how you can make armor and weapons based on certain creatures. Would be nice if you could alter the design of the village and even the cloths of the villagers by funding or donating enough monster parts.

Well from what I remember from the early coverage of MH4, isn't the "village" in that game actually a roving caravan of sorts that sets up as a village in several different locations, depending on what regions you're hunting in? If anything, it sounds like Capcom is going the opposite direction and giving you even fewer NPCs to interact with...hopefully that comes with the balance of getting to know the individuals in the caravan better, but I kind of doubt it.

You're right about the caravan, but it is used to visit villages. The bolded however is incorrect. According to an interview with famitsu, the producer said MH4 will have the most NPCs ever.

I think it mostly seemed dead because originally Tri had 8 player rooms. If they wouldn't have gimped that for the west on behalf of Wii Speak the city would have seemed a lot livelier.

Yeah MH4 seems to change up a few things when it comes to single player and story. Recent trailers suggest more cutscenes with characters than before.
