Yeah, Twitch streams are good but a well commentated tournament is probably the best for someone getting into it. The GSL is the best event with the best players but you actually have to pay to get a reasonably good quality stream. There are tons of tournaments though that have quality commentating and players that are free to watch on Twitch. MLG has an event coming up I believe, and they do really good weekend long tournaments.

It's not really broken, just different:

I believe that due to the changes to the game clock in HotS (i.e., real-time instead of Blizzard time), APM is now calculated differently, so you should have a much higher APM in HotS than Wings of Liberty. Because 1 in-game minute is now longer (60 seconds now, as opposed to whatever it was before, much shorter, probably more like low 40s), you have more time to input actions in 1 minute, therefore significantly increasing your APM.

I believe StarCraft 1 calculated APM to 60 seconds, like HotS now does. But StarCraft 1 and 2 have very different definitions of what the games consider an "Action".

Yeah, at least for now, I'll admit it all seems a bit inflated. I was also hovering around 150 and now it's 250-300 all the time. APM seems a bit meaningless, but maybe it'll all seem normal when we're more used to HotS.
