Wii U Satisfaction Thread

I just finished transferring my Wii content to my Wii U.

Because all my Virtual Console games were on an SD card, thanks to the Wii's tiny harddrive space, I now have to redownload them all.

However, when doing so, I noticed there's hardly any space on the Wii mode of the Wii U. What the hell? Is there a cap on how much of the 32GB of my Wii U that can be used for Wii stuff?

It's still "just a Wii" even if you have that big hard drive on the Wii U. Simply put your SD card back in the Wii U and use it again.

I can't. For whatever reason, it says I can't use them on this Wii system. They must be attached to a different profile or something (I know I can redownload them though, so it's not like I've lost them).

So I'm guessing Wii mode only allows you to access as much memory as the original Wii had? Pretty lame that they didn't raise the cap to whatever the Wii U system is.

Oh, and how do I upgrade my Virtual Console games? Or do we have to wait for them to be "re-released" before we can do that?

But that really doesn't address my actual question though; just how much memory does the Wii mode have? I assumed it share the 32GB, but evidently not. I'm guessing it's whatever the original Wii had?

The Wii mode on Wii U is literally a Wii. Same memory, same everything. You'll need an SD card again to get extra space.

And yes, once the game is released on Wii U eshop you go there and it'll say you've already purchased or whatever and you can upgrade. Meaning you have to wait until it's on the eshop before you upgrade.

You can't use the downloaded ones on the SD Card. No. Just clear the thing off and redownload to that SD Card again. That's how you do it.

They can't really mess with the firmware of the Wii to make it like the Wii U because everyone else is still using a Wii!

Alright, thanks guys.

I'm really disappointed to hear that we have to wait for games to be re-released to upgrade them. I thought everything on the Wii's store would immediately be available on the Wii U store, and you could upgrade right away.

Christ, the thought of enduring Nintendo trickling their releases out again is unbearable.

FUCK; and I just realised I've now shot myself in the foot, as I have to play N64 games with a Classic controller, because you can't use fucking Gamecube controllers with the Wii U. Thanks Nintendo!

I now wish I had just left everything on my Wii.

Wii U owners best pay attention to the BF4 reveal. If it isn't coming to the Wii U, then that's the final nail in the coffin when it comes to EA support.

Got a big backlog but Little Inferno at $5 is tempting. How is this game? I have $5 from DDP and also plan to get Lego City U digitally.
Little Inferno is less of a game and more of an experience. That said, I bought it at $10 and enjoyed myself. I felt like $10 was the right price for what I got, and $5 is a great deal.

Is there a way to back out of Wii mode into the Wii U Home screen? The only way I see to exit after playing a Wii game is to power off.

Nintendoland and a $0.30 copy of F-Zero make up my entire Wii U library at the moment. They are nice, but... I CAN'T GET NO SATISFACTION!

Not until MH3U comes out next week. Then I will be very satisfied. Also, probably picking up Zombi U one of these days since I usually find myself liking games that are divisive and accused of being clunky. I'd consider more multiplats too if I didn't have such a nice PC. :(

This thing really shines when you have a big group of friends over. We spent hours playing Nintendo Land between Mario Chase and the Luigis Mansion. Everyone had a blast passing around the controller.

I am the same way. I had a NSMBU but after so long before launch wondering if I should get it, I sat on it and broke it in January. Not buying a new one anytime soon.

I paid 15 and I'd say it was still worth it. Better experience than most games, even if it was an anti-gaming game.... I think it was making fun of "achievements" and sitting in front of TV burning money on useless stuff.

so glad that I skipped last gen entirely, so I can have lots of fun with the Wii back catalogue right now ;)

Yeah, that was one of the main reasons I liked it. It's a clever commentary on contemporary game design AND consumption. Just stay in front of your fireplace and allow it to shut out everything else. Life, love, warmth, all becomes a simulated virtual commodity.

You really should get zombiu its really really good

Hello ! I was wondering : how many hours are needed to update the Wii U system now ? I heard that it took quite a while a few months ago. Also, did they improve the system (once again, I read that it was quite slow - yeah Bayonetta-girl japanese video !) ?

It's really not a big deal (the update). Just hit cancel and it downloads in the background.

Apart from having no games I still think the Wii U is pretty neat. I would like to see more regular updates on the eShop though, or notifications on the main dashboard when there are updates in the shop. Checking regularly without any new additions is a bit frustrating. The only thing I have problems with is the battery life of the controller, I already had it happen to me a few times that the controller was out of juice from just browsing the web here and there.

Do you have a deluxe and charging stand?

The Gamepad seems to surprise me with how long it last at times.

seconded. One of the few games I've seen my girlfriend get addicted to.

Yes, liked every bit of the Demo. But I will wait on sales.

I am officially on sale mode, except for Lego City. My backlog is growing. I am willing to spend more on Indie games on my Wii U than on my PS3, it also helps that we are getting quality over quantity. Very solid indie lineup, could keep you busy for a long time just on these titles.

I quite enjoy Runner 2 also. Does anybody know the trick to exit the game without the system freezing? If I power off during the game it locks and if I try to exit to the main menu it locks. Because of that bug I don't play it as often as I want.

Can anyone answer if I need to install each disc game I buy? Just got the Sonic Racing game and its filled up some more of my precious 8GB hard-drive space. Thanks!

i got the nyko uboost (.this thing) and its great, it totally adds another three hours of battery life thank god.

Of course that's because its basically an attachable charger but still. The added bulk doesnt bother me either.

Not really that satisfied. When I didn't have a laptop for 2 months, I used it reguarly for web browsing. Awesome web browser btw..

But I don't play it much anymore. The current library just doesn't interest me at all. Nintendo really should have come out with Pikmin 3 at launch.

i still don't get what nintendo was thinking releasing this line up of games. i have not turned on my wiiu in the past month now, there just isn't anything to keep me interested.

Just got a SpotPass notice. NSMBU has an update available.

Apparently, they made a separate NSMBU Miiverse community for those who post directly from the game prompts.

Well , I expected to get the WiiU this december but a great deal on my local Sam´s Club made me get the WiiU Zombie U pack this week ( the pack included the Pro Controller , Zombie U and Nintendolans ) , got 50.00 U.S. credit in the store. Also got the console because Pikmin is near and it is a must have for me and my son.

After some time updating and playing I am glad with the console , it delivers FUN and that is what it matters, New Mario 3D surely will be great and my mind is having dreams about a new Metroid game.

Since I just get Nintendo consoles for their exclsuve IP , really do not care what third party will deliver , I am not a Nintendo fan jus simple love their IPs. PS4 will look great next to my WiiU , as PS3 did with my Wii.

Now the wait for E3 is more intense.....

So... I have $20 to burn...

What's the general consensus about the best version of the game? PS3 or Wii U? The demo doesn't crash my Wii U, so that's not an issue.

The Wii mode won't read off the SD card anymore. Once you're done tranferring, all you can do with that card is format it, then use it for game storage. Anything you re download can be saved to that SD card, but not played. You've got to do some swapping around. It's a pain.

EA is finished. They'll be selling off their studios by the end of next gen.

It's too bad. I was really looking forward to microtransactions.

started to walk around in Wii Street U but I found by Zooming the map out and hovering the cursor over the land you can find secret areas with a single photo no walking lines but 360 photo in places you should not be like

IRAN

Saudi Arabia

and others
