Football Thread |OT16| Bacon & Dregs

It's impossible for him to play worse than Cisse has this match. Ameobi to equalise and then Cisse to toe poke it in in the 93rd minute again.

I'd take that over stinking Wigan nicking this one.

Tiote frozen there. Amazing what difference having Cabaye & Ben Arfa make to the team compared to today.

The prize money for winning it is currently just about less than the amount a top team gets from TV rights per game (and will be far less next season). I mean I can certainly see why it would mean a lot to some squads but it's the equivalent to winning a bottom tier bowl game in American college football. No one but the winner cares. To illustrate that a bit more, you're still calling it the Carling Cup and it's got a new sponsor this year.

This is a parody post surely

pls

So fucking what? It's silverware. I've been supporting my club for 28 years and would KILL to see them win some proper silverware.

I used to think City fans were the sane ones in Manchester, but I guess 5 years amid a media circus has changed all that.

Yeah, Cabaye dictates the midfield fantastically. Marveaux has zero control in there and is only good for his final balls which have been shite in this match. Tiote's just Tiote and should not be starting.

SANTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Santon! That was a classy finish. 1-1, I think Carbonox_Ratchet has it right about Cisse nicking it on 93'.

Surely. And at that point in the future, there will be 5 current academy players (more than likely even more) playing in the League Cup too.
It's still a trophy.

No doubt it is 4th on the list but it's still a trophy.

For any club, let alone Manchester City...that's an achievement. City have hardly won anything in their history, everything should count for them from here on in now that they actually can win stuff.

Its a cup. Who gives a shite about prize money when your club is financially sound? And keep the similes to a decent sport pls :P

And the 'you only care if you win' is a disingenuously shite attitude. I call it the Carling Cup because it sounds better :P

How about the TV money, does the League grant any to the finalists?

Could very well be a cultural difference between the UK and the US. There isn't an equivalent in the US (smaller side trophies) so it just doesn't mean as much to me personally. And clearly it doesn't to the club brass.

Before the takeover, did you feel the same regarding the Capital One Cup?

I was staying well clear anyway. The recent news about how bad it's been just solidified that decision for me.

Someone made a joke...

Today someone will find this code snippit:

Code:
allowOfflinePlayMode = false;

...turns out it's true.

Code:
        kNoRepeatNetworkAlertSeconds : 15,
        [B]kNetDownForceQuitAfterMinutes : 20,[/B]

lmao

So if the game detects you are offline it starts a 20 minute countdown, if you are not online before then it will force you to quit.
Removing this line allows indefinite offline play.
