Let's see what lasts longer. My posting abilities, or the bandwidth from my website (Avatar).

On a separate note, any other rules I should know about? Obviously I've read everything in the FAQ / Terms of Service, but damn as hell the only rule I didn't read will be the one I get banned for.

Cheers in advance.

I never got banned from not reading an unwritten rule. Because nobody noticed me breaking the unwritten rules.

Such as where 10 posts later I did some rather terrible key begging for a Halo 3 beta invite. ... where I ended up getting in the friends and family beta invite via different means. Funny how that works out.

I spent way too long making sure I'm not accidentally bumping the thread I got that quote from.

My first post:

Wii U Speculation said:
I really don't care to speculate on how powerful the hardware is, it has almost been a full 6 years since the Xbox 360 was first manufactured and Nintendo has shown in the past that they can produce high-performance consoles at consumer friendly prices, so I'm fairly confident about the rumoured hardwares performance.

What I am concerned about is launch support and the online infrastructure. 3DS has been my first Nintendo hardware since the SNES, and while I can appreciate the potential, the past 2 weeks haven't exactly blown my socks off (aside from the amazing screen obviously!).

L O L...

My 11th post was stanning for Hyoyeon in the Kpop thread

GAF didn't always have a Junior Member status, right? I'm surprised I got away with some of my early posts, lol. How did mods handle bullshit from brand new members back then? Same as now (permaban)?

apparently this is it:

Knowing Uruguay, i wont be able to buy this game in a long time :( the fact that i have a pal console on an american country doesnt help either..

in the No More Heroes 2 thread

but im pretty sure that's not my first post.. huh

also check the awful english. "Wont be able to buy this game FOR* a long time" you dumbass 4-years younger salsa

1st post - "Can a proper gamer ignore Nintendo games?"
Depends largely on how one defines "proper gamer" (I don't - that is, I simply don't define it). I own a PS3 and a DS at the moment and get equal use out of both. On average, I'd say a greater amount of games that I'd actually wish to play are released for the DS as opposed to the PS3/360 - RPG's, namely. I don't own a single Nintendo-developed game in my entire collection, oddly enough.

Can a proper gamer ignore Nintendo games? Yes. Can they ignore Nintendo consoles? I don't think so.

2nd post - "Mass Effect Bitching Thread"
Visceral, story-driven Facebook game is more like it. "Mass Effect 4: You're Jacob Now"

3rd post - "Do you like being alone?"
There's nothing I want more after a long day at work than to spend a few hours in total isolation - there's no feeling like it. I get sort of mad when people force themselves into my schedule - "Let's see a movie!" - how does one say "No, I'd rather be alone than hang out with you" without sounding like a douche?

Not bad. I was a pretty awesome Junior.

oh my god look at this fucking guy:

hello im Pablo and im probably the only member from Uruguay :D

as you may or may not guess gaming isnt really a mainstream thing over here, and we suffer from anything to insane game prices, (wich leads to) piracy, to late late late release dates, etc.. anyhow i manage being only a wii, ds, ps2 and pc user

im a film and music student and i really see games as an underappreciated form of art, a sentiment that is sometimes difficult to share over here, so im glad i found gaf !

this could be a good chance to apologize in advance cause im sure my english will suck sometimes...

anyway, been reading for quite a while now and im nothing but grateful to be part of such wonderful community, kudos !

2010 junior rush thread

what the fuck man that's embarrasing

smileys? "kudos"? the whole games are art speech?

who is this jackass

I've started playing NieR a few days ago, and I absolutely love it. I just cleared the Barren Temple.
I think what I love the most about the game is the music; I've been listening to it non-stop before I even got the game. I can't stop listening to "Temple of Drifting Sands" in particular. <3

Anyhow, I have one quick question about a quest in Façade. After the quest where you look for
the missing girl (whose boyfriend confessed to having accidentally killed her), is there ever a follow-up quest that explains why she pretends that nothing is amiss, and that she has no boyfriend
?
Some of the main things I love about the quests in NieR are the little twists and the consequent dialogue between Weiss (Weiß?) and Nier. From what I hear, the game will only get better further on, so I can't wait.
Could be...worse, I guess. Why the fuck do I keep capitalizing the R, though?

Wow. If this has taught me anything, it's that I really am always right. Except for that one time I recommended that someone play Zelda II.

Mine is about Breaking Bad

Very recently watched all 3 seasons over a month or so. After the first season I thought "Wait..how did they do this for several seasons? This can't end well." and after the third season I thought "When is season 4 gonna start already?"

So I'm excited.

First post in PC thread

Hi guys this is my first post here :)

I need your help, I have Phenom X4 3Ghz (stock), 4GB DDR3 ram and ATI 5830 1GB GPU. I want to update my PC so I can plan newest games on 1680X1050 on high settings.
So should I upgrade my CPU and GPU to something faster like phenom x4 3.4GHz and radeon 6870 or should i wait for new CPUs coming later this year?

On top of that, it only runs at 30fps. I think the original DS version ran at twice that.

It seems like they just haven't gotten the hang of the 3DS hardware. I would not expect a 3D game from them that doesn't look like shit anytime soon.

From what I understand, the gameplay itself will be at 60 FPS but the UI will be at 30 FPS. I give it a pass for being an eshop game (an improved retail DS game at that).

Eww...I was mistaken. :P ATV Wild Ride 3D was still pretty fun though.

'K, first post on GAF, hi everyone ^^

My latest pick ups, from Amazon.uk and other sources. :D

The two DS game are presents from a friend, the rest is from Amazon/HMV.

Also from Amazon(except for Cages&Totoro), a LOT of books here. . . "Lore" is Premiere Edition, wonderful stuff.

Last but not least, a Katamari limited Cellphone strap and some GY!BE pins.

That's it for now, cheers. :)
.
Pics still up, weird.

Well, this'll be my first post since I just noticed my account has been activated :D

Hello all, long time lurker from Sweden here! I've got 5 minutes before my class arrives so I'll make this quick: teacher, gamer, cinephile, metalhead are the words I usually describe myself with. 26 year old and have sort of graduated and started my first real job this january. I will probably spend most of my time here in the OT section, at least until the summer holiday when hopefully I get more time to actually play games hehe.

Mine actually wasn't too long ago.

Just finished watching House of Cards, and it's definitely one of my top five favourite shows at the moment.

I heard that Netflix have already wrapped up season 2 and are going to release it later.

I will never throw a whole game but to prolong some fights I will definitely lose a round or two, to make it interesting. But I always try my best to win, letting other people win when you weren't giving it your all is decieving them into thinking that they have the potential to beat you.

I think this was my first post? According to my search results, apparently I registered a neogaf account, then forgot about it for a year, then when I got really bored at work I started up.

It's crazy because an hour ago I was literally wondering what my first post was :P

Perfect Dark 2
My first Xbox 360 game, bought on launch day. I had a total blast in that game — and still play it today, sometimes. A proper sequel for this would be incredible.

Crackdown 3
I'd love to see Ruffian build a brand new world for Crackdown. Crackdown 2's ending
left a massive open door for Agent vs Agent warfare
, now it's just gotta happen.

Agent
Don't have a PS3 but as this is now almost certainly an Orbis title, I'm excited for it. Mostly just to see a new franchise come out of Rockstar North.

Rainbow Six: Patriots
I've been waiting for a sequel to Vegas. Terrorist Hunt on LVU Campus is probably the fondest memory I've had from this generation.

1 vs 100
This title was so promising when it came out, and Microsoft really hyped it up at the time. It's such a shame that this unique genre has just been abandoned. It needs to come back in some form.

Burnout
I miss Burnout. Need for Speed is getting stale and repetitive — and the online is nowhere near as fun as Paradise. Also, 60fps visuals.

Alan Wake 2
This game's immersion blew my mind first time around. Can't wait to see how Remedy will deliver on new hardware.

MW4
Obviously happening. Just fascinated to see how it'll perform on next-gen hardware — and how on Earth they could possibly top MW3's big city set pieces.
Space?

Also...
Whatever's being worked on at Bungie, Black Tusk, and Respawn.

From What possible E3 2013 Megaton could push you over the edge in hype?

Ahh, memories...

Interesting

Hey guys (finally approved after registering in December). I've been at this game since last weekend and I'm not seeing much improvement. I'm not a button masher or anything but sometimes I think I'd have a better win ratio if I was one, I'm currently on 25%.

Is there anything else I should learn other than combos? I'm trying to learn Litchi atm and I've also been playing as Arakune. I can get people cursed easily enough but I don't know what to do once they are.

Help a noob guise.

At least my first post wasn't as bad as Salsa's

U.S.

1. Super Mario Galaxy
2. Rock Band
3. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
4. Bioshock
5. Call of Duty 4
6. God of War II
7. Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
8. The Orange Box
9. Ninja Gaiden Sigma
10. Motorstorm

This was from the 2007 GOTY Voting thread. The sad thing about this list is I didn't even finish Bioshock(still till this day) and placed it so high. I also omitted Halo 3 just because it broke my 360.

I can't believe I've been on GAF for 5+ years.

In a Lego City Undercover thread I posted :

"You know what would be a money machine ? If they release actual Lego Vehicles with built in NFC chips, that you could build then spawn them in the game."

I thought it was decent.

the thread was Help! My Gamecube isn't working right :( 9-28-2006

I've seen a video of a GC working just fine after getting dragged by a rope from a moving car, so maybe you could try that.

I think that joke holds up pretty well.

I had a pretty disappointing first post:

Internal soldered SSD chips? No thank you.

A slot for any notebook SSD or HDD like in PS3? Yes thank you.
This.

SSD will improve with storage, price and availability in time which will allow people to upgrade their memory on the next Playstation console and take advantage of the superior technology. I honestly was completely fine with my 60GB storage space on my PS3 until I replaced it with my current slim.

I would prefer that SSD was brought in earlier on than keeping high capacity hard drives.

Hello, I'm new. I'm a 20 year old European. Don't be scared, I'll be banned within the week if I have to believe your posts so I won't trouble you that much. Anyway, I own a (PAL) Wii and a PlayStation 3 with the latter getting a lot more playtime, but that is just because I bought a Wii for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I don't have a 360 yet, I'm still waiting for that one.
I have gotten old.
