So the chopper escorts them along while providing support so they can make it to a building, to get to the roof so they can then get in said chopper... er... wut?

Looks good, nothing amazing. Kind of looks a lot like BF3 visually (maxed on PC anyway) with a few improvements and who knows about the story. Will buy it though.

Not really...lol.

Nothing in BF4 looked as boring as that from a gameplay perspective at least.

Next gen is here....fall 2013 god damn this fall is going to be packed. Devs need to stop piling everything for this fall leave some for 2014 Q1.

It's going to be okay. BF4 is baseline next gen.

Listen, I don't mind everyone having the best looking game possible on any platform. But when you start to make claims that it will be good as, when this is way out of even current PC levels, you are either delusional or lying to yourself.

Also that source doesn't look like it was good.

It was confirmed through twitter earlier today that it was going to be Frostbite 3.0.

EDIT: Yes I do. I remember seeing it when it was first posted.

What was your point again?

You do know how old that rumor goes back right?

Looks great! Will propably buy with a new GPU =)

DICE if you read this. Make it so I can have same character on PC as on console and I will buy two versions to play with different friends!

Wat. The both have the same gameplay. Shooting a gun at enemies, just in different environments. One had a airship sequence and the other had a car sequence.

I thought people played FPS due to the MP. Thats where gameplay matters for me at least.

What in KZ looked better?

Basically the city because it's all shiny and futuristic. As soon as the KZ footage hits ground level, BF4 murders it.

Not even close.

I don't know what kind of secret sauce some people have in their BF3 code, but this smokes BF3 maxed.

The graphics are nice, but this single player looks incredibly boring. Unless destruction is a big part of gameplay and there are some actually deep characters, it's going to be just like BF3.
I wonder what they could do if they did something more interesting than a military shooter with the destruction.

It's definitely not at all. BF3 and Crysis 3 get somewhat close to this right now.

Looks great! I enjoyed BF3's single player campaign and this looks like it'll be a good time as well. The rolling waves at the end of the trailer looked amazing (16:49).
All that said, I was hoping for a multiplayer reveal though. But perhaps they're saving that for E3.

OFFSET SIGHTS, SO TACTICOOL! WE WANT THE CoD AUDIENCE!

Just like the other thread, when will people realize they're both copying REAL LIFE and not each other? Hybrid optics, etc. have been popular with SOCOM units the past few years so of course we'll see it in games more often from here on out...Did people copy off of the game that originally put the SCAR ingame or is it just due to the fact that it's more prevalent in reality now? It's absurd how everything has to be a copy of some other game when they're all just putting the latest evolutions in military technology in their games. So really, they all are shameful copies of real life!

I don't say COD copied SOCOM by allowing you to customize your weapon simply because those customizations became more prevalent in real militaries.

ArmA 3 has hybrid sights and they sure as hell don't copy COD.

it looked fucking phenomenal I have no complaints. but it did kind of remind me of MoH, the gun mechanics, the whole competitive social thing to how you take damage and even the sound of the impacting bullets.

You can't just have that the whole game............gotta have variety. Geez.

The last few minutes isn't "variety." It's nothing. Pure smoke and mirrors that loses it's value after one playthrough. They have such, for lack of a less cliche term, visceral audio design and destruction, but it's totally wasted on "wall of noise" scenarios like the stuff in this footage. There's nothing here that screams out "Battlefield's vision of a FPS campaign." It's just like every other post-CoD4 shooter. Obviously multiplayer is where this series shines, but if they're gonna do campaigns, at least do something different.

What in KZ looked better?

To me KZ SF looks more CGI like. Also seems to have a slightly more flamboyant art direction. None of the wide open stuff in BF4 looked nearly as impressive as KZ's imo, despite both games being linear. But that's my opinion. I know opinions will vary.

I did think there was more attention to details (at least up close) in BF4 though. But there weren't many intimate moments in KZ SF to show off that side of it.

You should really stop underselling a version releasing with next gen consoles.

Unlike BF3... There won't be a huge gap.

The huge gap will only exist on PS3/360 since it's obvious, dated hardware.

It's Smash....ignore him. Otherwise his next gen console lambasting and PC championing will continue to spiral out of control.

What?? Have you played Crysis 3 or BF3 maxed out? They look VERY similar to what we are seeing with BF4. This coming from a Sony fanboy *points at myself*. Dont get me wrong, visualy it looks great and should look like this on next gen CONSOLES but the PC is pumping out some serious looking shit right now visually.

I hope that you can opt out of the scoring, or at least the constant notifications. I hate playing single player games and feeling like it's a competition. I feel like I'm going to have to play every single-player game offline next-gen.

i dunno about not even close, both look like really really really extra super good current gen games to me. current gen+. It's obvious neither could run on current gen consoles, mind you.

I'd give the nod to BF4 overall for sure. Which means BF4 probably takes the title of "best graphics in the world". It'll be it or Crysis 3 maxed on PC for that title (maybe Shadowfall as well in the running). Previous champion was Crysis 2 (naysayers aside that game looks amazing maxed on PC)

Or maybe you could just not give a shit?

Even the best fall down sometimes.

I was kidding, I know what canted sights are and why they exist. They're real and happen to have a neat look/function in a video game.

Sorry man, not to me. I recently played the SP maxed out 1080p on my 7970 and it ran amazing and look phenomenal. Does BF4 look better? Yes, but significantly??? No. Not to me anyway...

I think people are forgetting how damn good BF3 looked maxed on PC.

Looks just like BF3 on ultra to me too.

Different set pieces graphics look about the same.

Man I don't know why you have a PC that runs BF3 on Ultra if you don't notice jumps like these. You could be playing BF3 on medium and it would look as good as Ultra.

Same goes for you man, what a waste.

Graphics look good. Gameplay looks shit. Premise is probably shit. So many things in that video are just wrong.

- Every team member somehow survives a barrage of bullets dead-on from a fucking chopper.
- 50ft drop, still alive with concrete on top.
- Guy lifts concrete up and saves protagonist.
- For some reason can't lift other piece of concrete even a bit.
- Lol @ cutting the leg sequence.

Then again, it's Battlefield campaign, so I wasn't expecting much in the first place. Shit's laughable, honestly.

Regarding the graphics: Looks very similar to BF3. Yes, it's an upgrade, but not a world's difference. Looks more like things were added here and there rather than an overhaul (which I wasn't expecting, anyways). Not the jump that Crysis 2 --> Crysis 3 had. Water most definitely had a huge upgrade. BF3 water was utter shit.

When did they ever show mp footage as the first thing for a battlefield game? And at least they tried to make single player look interesting. That gameplay was amazing imo: the graphics, the destruction and the animations all looked excellent. Everyone always has to complain about things.

edit: alright, maybe the story isn't believable but they tried to make a believable story last time and it failed miserably so now they're just putting in more explosions and destruction.

BF4 with more destruction, different engine, higher graphical settings. Computers are struggling to run Crysis 3 maxed out at 60fps (unless you go SLI/Crossfire), I think we'll see the same thing happening in BF4 with today's hardware.

You should really stop underselling a version releasing with next gen consoles.

Maybe not a huge gap. But what we saw in the video? No, I don't think it will look close to that on consoles.

It's definitely not at all. BF3 and Crysis 3 get somewhat close to this right now.

Crysis 3 maxed out on a 24"-30" Monitor(s) struggles to hit 60fps maxed out.

This is a video game.

IS THAT MICHAEL K WILLIAMS?

OMAR COMIN!

*EDIT* It is him, I thought the character looked like him but its clearly him. You get the best look at him at the 13:12 min mark. Its his voice too.

Negatives...
- Lens flare
- Suppression
- Crap all over the screen

Positives...
I'll still pre-order tomorrow because I want every single piece of MP there is even without seeing any of it tonight.

Not really...lol.

I disagree strongly. Killzone SF looks very impressive, but in actual action, it just doesn't come anywhere close to what's on display in this BF4 vid. The totality of what's present here is a clear step up from Killzone.

Killzone I feel is what a PS3 game would look like on steroids, or if the PS3 had quite a bit more extra horsepower pushing it. I had a similar feeling about Halo 3. I felt like, as much as I enjoyed that game, it was an original xbox halo title, simply pushed to the extreme using the extra horsepower of the 360. I feel the same about the new Killzone. But then, I may be in very small company, as I also feel Watch Dogs looks more impressive than Killzone as well. Perhaps it may not win in all the ways that some would want if they were making marks on a checklist, but I think it looks like a decidedly more impressive next gen title. It's quite a marvel as an open world title. The delta between Killzone and BF4 seems much bigger to me, perhaps because they are games from a similar genre, and thus the advantages of BF4 stand out further by comparison. Just my opinion, but if you think Killzone looks better that's fine. It's your opinion and I respect that.

Only thing I'd give Killzone over BF4 is perhaps art, and I'm someone who will gladly put a game over another due to its art, but BF4 is something else. And keep in mind that this was likely running on a monster pc rig.

Well, when the competitor contains ghosts and gundams, no one really cares about what's realistic.
