Though I don't agree with not having a headset being second fiddle.
The best thing about playing on ps3 online (or rather what made it possible for me to play online) was not having to hear screaming idiots like on xbox live.
They spent pennies to the detriment of the online play for me.

Nice to see Sony learn from Microsoft. This means voice communication should be more common with the PS4. Now to hope the headset is actually a quality one unlike the Xbox 360 headset.

Playing Halo 4 on XBL ranges from bad to unbearable. I don't even bother with the headset anymore.

A huge mistake they made with the PS3 they are finally correcting.
It's amazing how out of touch Sony was with the importance of Online at the beginning of this generation. Likely had to do with the Japanese population not really caring for online and social interaction as much as the western audience.

A bluetooth remote needs to ship with it as well. If it's going to be this premiere entertainment hub, it needs a fucking remote that I don't have to buy separately.
I think I had one in with my Elite but not in the Core.

It's a double edged sword, but I'll take it.
As far as I know, it just uses a USB dongle.
If the PS3 headphones don't work I hope we can use legit PC headphones that just use 3.5mm jacks. Headsets are far inferior to a headphone/mic setup. Especially the shitty over one ear headsets.

Yup. The 360 came with a headset with every console. I don't know if it's still that way now but for the first couple years at least it did.

I have a headset, I just don't use it. Doubt I'll use PS4's. I mostly play at night, me talking to the tv won't go over well, especially if I have to speak up.

Due to the party chat system, Xbox Live is quiet in every game...even popular ones.
Due to no party chat on PS3, most games have a lot of people talking and hearing their reactions, especially in 1v1 or 2v2 style games, is part of the fun.
Xbox Live ruined that fun because everyone and their mother uses party chat. Not only does it ruin fun, but it ruins any chance of teamwork over the mic, ruining any games that is more than just "point and shoot". So Billy can selfishly talk to his friends in a private chat about aimless garbage.
If PS4 has a similar system, multiplayer games will be quiet, despite ironically everyone having and using a mic.

This is a very odd request. Honestly, it comes with a "remote". Why would they pack in another, traditional remote? We need them to keep things at a minimum right now to get the price under control. I'm sure one could be cheap for them to make, but still, every little thing adds up to said price point. I'm surprised there's a headset in every box, and that trumps a remote in necessity.
I remember when 360 fanboy said microsoft console it's only for true hardcore gamers & now will have kinect 2 pack ins.

Party chat was great if you were in it, sucks if you weren't.
I think they stopped with the Slim revision. My 360S didn't come with a headset packed in.
