Clean image means alot more than no aliasing. Make sure you actually say what you mean next time.

jaggies, whatever the fuck, i'm no super nerd but i know jaggies when i see em
all around the lights and windows is the jagged edges, its more prevelent on more detailed cars, this doesnt happen in my super IQ pc games with 4x4 supersampling yo

Granted these are fairly old shots and they've made it look a little better with updates but nothing miraculous.

i have the game and i know the image quality is pretty bad, those shots seem resized from 1080 to 720 to hide aliasing, dw i know it means a hell of a lot to you to make sure gt5 looks its best at all times!
my pcs fine, i just have a dx10 card

Haha, no. Here's a hint: stop using 1080p mode with probably the Flicker reduction filter that makes it use QXAA.
With a 230 there's not many games you're supersampling.

Not sure if this has been posted but Digital Foundry did a technical analysis on both Forza 4 and GT5. They each have their pros and cons.

They pushed a few boundaries too many since at release the game had constant screen tearing and framerate drops (unlike Forza). The updates haven't made either of those go away completely.
I've tried my hardest to keep out of here but for some reason I felt compelled to post something.
i use sharpen or whatever its called, and the reason i used 1080p mode is because my monitor looks like shit with anything less than native, and the know the 1080p mode isnt even 1080p but it still looks a lot cleaner, but even then it still looks aliased, like pretty much every console game out there

You picked quite possibly some of the worst GT footage on youtube. Evident by the hud being so blurry, all to make GT look bad. Even though there is dozens of youtube links on the last few pages that point to the contrary.
I've noticed Forza fans are way more aggressive in trying to shit on the competition, while the GT fans are more about defending their game. Its actually quite common with Xbox fans in general vs Sony fans.
You know there is more than graphics to a game, you should try turning up the sound......

I'm not going to lie, that car sounds fucking incredible.
GT5 was one of those games with inconsistent graphics quality. The game can look real good but it can also look real bad.

This thread is so funny, just keeps delivering when you least expect.
Maybe i'm just crazy, but out of 100 minutes i would spend complaining about those two franchises, maybe only 2 or 3 would be about visuals. The next big jump will be with PS4/720, until them we're just discussing old tech.
Of course, GT5 looks better, it's silly to debate this, but we need a new gen. I've seen what it looks to be GT6 (Corvette and NSX trailers), and it really makes me feel like there's no place for those games anymore on ancient hardware.
Next gen... NOW!
Also, nobody replied to the clutch comment, and that's something that bothers more than any tearing or 2d tree. It really is poorly coded, a shame they didn't invested time on it.

Overall Forza has better sounds, but by how much is always exaggerated, and there are some cars that do sound better on GT5.
That sounds nothing like a 787B but whatever....

Sound is definitely one aspect PD need to improve, be more consistent, it's one of the few things I would say Forza triumphs over GT.

Racing games in general sound bad, it's like they invest 1000 hours on visuals and only 10 on sounds.
GT5 on select models sound OK, but without upgrades, once you change the exaust, it's like you've installed a vacuum cleaner. Sounds need to be dirtier in general.
Forza and Shift do some things better, but it's not like it's as good as those games have pushed visually.
I think capturing other sounds other than the engines is what makes it difficult. Also, we are used to hearing this in real life through on board cameras, which have terrible capture qualities, so we expect "real" sounds to be pitched differently than when you record straight from the dyno.
Please tell me T10 has fixed the shifting. It just ruins all sound videos.
The fake movement of the windscreen wipers totally ruins the immersion for me.
That reminds me of these. Totally overengineered (an extra hinge to remove one cm2 of water), but damn do they look cool
The current E class does the same as well.I think we all know who the hardcore guys in this thread are. The GT boys are also the most vocal and hardcore out of the two camps.
It hasn't been fixed.
Yeah, funny enough Forza 3 & 4 have really good clutch simulation including the gearbox damage. The rest of the driving physics is debatable though.
